You are already ahead of the game if you stocked up on liquor. You can barter/trade that for anything should the electricity stay out for a week or more. I agree if you can still get it, grab multiple bags of ice and fill up all your coolers. Also snag a few cases of beer and plenty of canned goods (and a can opener) - anything that doesn't need refrigeration.
Charge your cell phone battery up to the hilt and buy an extra battery and charge that up too. Lighters, batteries, flashlights, matches, a good portable A.M./F.M. radio and a bag of high quality weed won't hurt either.
You could go the extra mile and stock up on a few boxes of ammo in case looting starts after the storm, a couple of small firearms and a sawed-off 10 gauge will easily keep those sleazy opportunitsts at bay.
Other than that, an economy-sized jar of Astroglide and the Doors "Riders on the Storm" are my only other suggestions. ENJOY!!
i need suggestions, I'm in my timeshare in Key West with a lovely lady that came with me. we can't leave because of the traffic on the bridges trying to get out of here, and if you do get to miami there will be no rooms there to rent. i did get a hurricane survival kit......several candles, and booze. back to my question to you guys. gorgeous lady with me, and we have tried all the positions in know about. i can't sleep 24 hours a day for the next 3 days. electricity probably will be out, all bars and restaurants will be closed. wind blowing over 80 MPH. if i were a republican, i couldn't go to the convention, because they are going to have same problems. FUCK, i can't think of anything to do.....any ideas. lol
.... they dont hit Tampa. There also have not been rooms here(Tampa) for weeks.

The Summer late afternoons I look out my windows to see the black clouds. I hear the rumblings of the thunder and occasional flashes of lightning and think "This is a great time to run". I coined myself the Daredevil runner and this daredevil likes nothing more than to outsmart a storm on a 5 mile run whilst keeping the pace at full throttle.

to my friend, aren't you funny. yesterday we went on a 80 foot, two mast, 2 hour sailing trip. nice start to the trip, then the pre-hurricane came in. rain that was like a tall cow pissing on a flat rock and 45 mph wind. there was 26 of us on the boat. we came around this island and hit the wind, and the fun began. as you know we had to tack back into the wind, and several times we layer that boat on it side so much we were taking water over the side. do you think they passed out life jackets.....NO FUCKING WAY.....i getting a T-Shirt made for my lady that says i got her really wet in Key West. thank you God for the rain. LOL.

To survive without electricity you need to be properly provisioned. Coolers with lots of ice for refridgeration are a necessity also plenty of batteries and battery powered devices including radio, mp3 player, smart pad, laptop and lighting. I recommend the mighty mite that you can get at music stores for music stand lights. While you're not shagging reading material can keep you occupied. I hope you have a gas stove for heating your canned food if that's all you have. If you're a foodie you can do a lot of stove top cooking. If you have talent accoustic musical instruments can keep you and your companion entertained. Weather permitting get out and watch the waves.
thanks to everyone for all the advise. keep them coming. any ideas on how i can keep cuming, after several time the first few hours. i have all the food, booze, candles, i know i need to try to find higher ground to park my car. it keeping my lady from going nuts. we do have extra batteries, if thats what your thinking. lol. oh Im 68 years old, and she is much much much younger. LOL

but like you said. you're with a hot chick.. and you're gonna be stuck in a hurricane.. you got the booze and the buns. all you're missing are the cigarettes. they make everything cool.. and when you're cool.. they make you look cooler. nothing beats 1. the cigarette after a meal. 2. the cigarette when you're taking a shit.. 3. cigarette after beating the shit out of someone... and 4. cigarette after awesome, uninhibited, hot sweaty, sex.
