When I first came to DC with an agency, I was booked for at least 12-13 clients a day. Now, at that time, my first experiences in the biz - I LOVED IT! Really, I did. I felt so energetic, I could have done all of DC and still had energy left over.
That was my first 5 day visit... I made tons of cash, couldn't tell you what more than 2 of my clients looked like(only because I saw them each day that visit - still talk to them) and went home with the biggest smile on my face - this was EXCITING!
I came back the next month, and immediately started seeing clients, after the first day, I took the second day off and realized that I didnt want to see clients like the first visit. I let the agency know that after the 6th client, I would not be available anymore that day, I think I worked no more than 4 hours a day (6 clients in that time!)
In the end, I went indy, I was being drained at that rate of clients, and I knew I would burn out soon if I didnt change it. So, as an indy, I set my time schedule, I plan for plenty of down time, shower, change, relax, eat, read, and get back into the mood. Working for an agency is off my list now, I couldnt make it worthwhile for them, as I am not willing to meet with more than 3 clients a day.
Not all agencies are crazy like the one I worked for, and certainly it wasnt like that for everyone who worked there - I was NEW to the biz, young, French, much thinner and still had big boobs! lol!
