This has not happened to me, but if a girlfriend/wife finds a provider phone number - say on a piece of paper or stored in the cellphone - and then calls that number, how do the providers respond?
Usually with saying it is a wrong number. I will also add that this is a company phone and shared by many. That way you can dodge a bullet if need be. I found if you are professional about it they are cool with whatever you say.
I tell them that I am a custom jeweler. That I do not have a store because I am an art student. I let them know that I have been commissioned to make a piece of custom jewelry for them and that it was a surprise. Hence, the reason my name is on a piece of paper instead of a business card.
Thanks ladies for your replies. Accidents can happen. It makes me feel a little safer. Note to Paige - she did not find a number. I was just curious about this topic.
worse is when a wife finds the hubbys mail account open, with something like (his) "Hello! can I stop by 1 pm today? Are you at the same place as last week? CK (***) ***-**** "...(mine) "yes, same place, 1 pm sounds good to me. See yah! B (***) ***-****"
Sometimes guys gets too comfortable in the hobby and forgets that their SOs are not as dumb or cannot "sense" anything. Women has the ability to sniff a cheating husband from miles away.
In this case, I was driving up the turnpike to meet one of my weekly regulars. He usually escapes during his lunch hour for a bit of loving. It was 11 am when the call came in with the question "Who are you? Can you explain to me the mails on my husband account?"
Well...I had no idea of "which husband" lol, I see soo many of them, so I pulled over, took a deep breath and tried to sound very professional. "huh...I don't know what do you mean. If you can be more specific I might be able to help you".
Then she went on reading the mails to me and I figured she was my 1 pm appt SO. I knew he was tied up in an important meeting and also I knew details of his life (pillow talks definitely helps in a situation like this) so, I played the insurance adjustor part. I knew that he was having a bitter fight over an accident claim so I gathered my thoughts and said "oh Mr CK? Are you Mrs CK? Nice to meet you!!!! Yeah, I'm Mrs BP, and I'm trying to get the XXX Insurance Co to finally resolve the claim with your husband." Then she said "ohhhh great, he's been so distressed over the whole thing" and blah blah blah, we did a bunch of small talk when I was dialing his office number on my private cell and text messaging URGENT URGENT URGENT CALL ME NOW!!! on it...lol.
Phew...it was a very close encounter with an enraged wife and I got myself (and him too) off the hook easily. I think happens with every provider to get calls saying "who are u? why is your number listed in my husband phone (or phone bill), why he keeps calling u?"
We just need to act cool and sound very professional, it works.
I've only been called once by an irate g/f..I simply told her i had no clue as to what she was talking about; that I'm a housewife who minds her own business..I told her there was a very good chance that her b/f had purposely transposed a certain phone #, and that she should try other combinations of the #, maybe she'd be successful!
