Hi! I am a total newbie to this and I found out that both agencies and independents all asks for references from other providers for verification. Since I am a first timer, I can't provide any reference from providers which they require. So what is your first time experience and what is the right way to do this? Thanks a lot!

Rule number 1 never give out your employment info.  Unless you want to get blackmailed.

I do take employer information and many different ways I can verify...which are all non-evasive.  

For obvious reason, I won't put on here how I do it. What I will say is I have done this over and over again and NO ONE has ever had any problems with using employer information to me.

In the 7 yrs I have been around, I have never blackmailed or coerced anyone into anything...just not who/what I am about.  My reputation means too much to me to do anything to harm anyone..

Best to find a newbie friendly lady, do your homework on her and then do what you need to get references. Usually once you get 2 references, that info is not necessary.
