Carefull... not to be a jerk to the ladies you see!

That's the only real way to end up on any sort of DNS list. I don't see any problem with ladies keeping the phone numbers of guys who rip them off, treat them like sh*t, or act like complete jerks. It surely helps them in the future to identify the same guy calling AND to appropriately warn another lady if he is so foolish as to use her as a reference after treating her like crap.

Surely you don't expect us to not try and keep tabs on the few truly disrespectful, threatening, creepy or just plain dangerous clients out there, do you? The only way we've got to keep track of them is with their phone numbers or email addresses, and we use this for our own safety. It's not like we're stealing their pictures and making an FBI-esque top ten list on our personal websites- we're just protecting ourselves and each other from the few truly nasty clients out there, looking for the next lady to be a complete @sshole to and/or take advantage of. Phone numbers are just a very simple way of doing this, because everyone uses a phone number to book an appointment.

The numbers aren't used for anything else. They are strictly used to let ourselves know that the person calling us is Bad News.

In my opinion, DNS lists are not only acceptable- they're mandatory.

And to put it bluntly- as long as you remain a gentleman and not jerk to the ladies you meet- you don't have to worry about these lists in the first place. They will always be reserved for the TRULY awful and unforgivable. No one else.

So relax, darlin'.

Has any body else run up against this phenomena ? I decided to get a seperate cell phone just for hobbying purposes with it came a new phone#.Did this because other phone is majorally for work and wanted to seperate the two.Called a provider I have seen b4 and she answers the phone telling me Iam on a "nattional do not call list"for my new #.I try to explain and she cuts me off telling me I'm just following in the pervs footsteps who had the # b4 me and never to call back as she hangs up.This worries me for two reasons:are people really out there saving your # to some kind of call or do not call list and wouldn't this be bad business in privacy terms? Has anybody come across thi situation b4 and if so how did you resolve it?Also does some sort of list like this really exist to anyone's knowledge? Iwill be getting a new # today. If this is true I think we all need to be very careful.

It's my belief your call was met by someone having a very bad day. I looked for how it is someone receiving a call could possibly tell you are on a do not call list. This isn't hard to determine of your home number is on a do not call list such as mine is. There is no way she could have known.

Cell phone numbers can be part of this listing, but only if you register it. I'm curious to know what happens when someone ends service and the number goes back to the general pool - would it if originally part of this list still be?

The other consideration is your number is part of some providers listing that has received notoriety for making appointments and no show. Or used by someone that is less then admirable when discussing the terms of services.

I doubt you will find another provider like this one unless your number was used by another hobbyist - what are the chances of that?

My other thought is the call got switched to someone else who is not a provider and all you pervs should stop calling her - LOL....

Good Luck

I do save certain numbers of certain clients. I do this when a client repeatedly no shows or is a really big jerk. That may be what she meant. I know other providers who do the same. They have the name you gave and usually an ns next to it for no show or to also mean you were a jerk. That is just my 2cents.

My cell phone number gets TELEMARKETING calls!

This site will keep the telemarketers from calling you 31 days after you register (with a few exceptions, stated in the FAQ).

http://www.donotcall.gov/

My suggestion, get another number.  Your carrier will change the number for free if you tell them you are receiving calls from the former owner.

We all have DNS numbers in our phone.  It is a "must" in this biz.
