I am really having a hard time figuring out what area to stay in DC/VA.

In my searching I am thinking the following and would like to know from best to worse as to how you guys rate the area for convenience?

Arlington, VA
Dupont Circle
Tyson's Corner
Chantilly, VA
Herdon, VA
Reston, VA

Arlington VA, in Crystal City very close to DC and Metro Accessible with plenty of Hotels.

My .02 Makenzie would be to rank your choices as:

(1) Dupont Circle
(2) Tysons Corner
(3) Arlington, VA
(4) Reston, VA
(5) Hernon, VA
(6) Chantily, VA

For attracting your admirers, Dupont and Tysons both have their advantages so it's about a coin toss there, but what puts Dupont on top is if you like lots of good restaurant choices within walking distance of the hotel you are staying at.  Arlington is convenient but the parking isn't as good as Tysons and the restaurants aren't even close to what you'll find in the Dupont area.  Reston has lots of businesses and a large commercial Town Center with shops, restaurants, and movies that is easy and fun to walk around in.  The last two are only good if you you want to be or your admirers are already close to the Dulles Airport area.  For those that aren't, its' just too far away with the typically terrible D.C. traffic.

I am still making my decision and should know in a couple of days....however, I can't wait to come back up there again..

This time I am hoping to do some sightseeing...would love to go the White House..haven't done that since I was a wee little tot!!!

Dupont is popular,so is Arlington (I stay there 99% of the time and do nicely), Tyson's is popular also....I really like Arlington,try there or Tyson's.
