Is DMVindys website down? I have not tried to call them (because I'm unavailable this weekend), but I'm curious what is going on.

Also, it's wierd that I was checking the website of my local ATF last night and her website is down too (still down).

No need to worry, give it a day or two and I'm sure they'll be back.
There is no need to always report these momentary outages, 95%
of the time it is nothing serious.

If your truly worried try calling or emailing them.
Or maybe find a pretty lady to snuggle wherever you are.
Best of luck & have fun!

I am not saying there is cause for panic but rather than chastise the OP for letting folks know why not suggest that the owners of such websites mention to the community that they are planning routine maintenance.

Wouldn't that be best for everyone

I'm just saying give it some time before you panic.

The problem will likely be resolved in a day or two.
If the site is down for a week......then you can worry.

In the mean time, why not find yourself a new distraction.

If i ran an agency I would do whatever was possible to inform my customers of a planned outage.   If it it is something else that was innocent  i would try to inform my customers on sites like this.

I agree it probably is something harmless but who is responsible for people worrying needlessly-----the guy who posted a question or the agency that did not post at all?

I agree that a business should always keep it's web site running but sometimes, in this business, an agency would take down the site when they tale a vacation. However, I think DMV's site is really down. Yesterday the site was "temporarily" down. Today the hosting is gone.

Has anyone tried to call up Lisa and talk to her? May be she is out on vacation and completely unaware that the site is down. It's Memorial Day weekend after all.

Frankly, I hope their site being down is just a glitch and they're not gone.

The free enterprise system is based on competition. No one agency or organization should completely dominate a market if it can be helped. This is not to be confused with offering a superior service or product in the market there by having a large market share. There is actually a difference between the two concepts. One is about being the best and being rewarded for it, the other is about stifling all competition no matter what.

In my model of the world, I WANT my competition to exist. Why? Because they drive me to be better and prevent complacency.  Stiff competition drives market improvements, is good for the consumer and frankly I'm an American, THIS IS is HOW this game is played. There are winners and there are losers. There is no running up momma's skirt ( ie US Govt) to whine about fairness because you got beat fair  and square in the market place.

When you have a few businesses who dominate a market you inevitably end up with collusion, then price fixing and in extreme examples you end up with something like... The Federal Reserve.
( For those of you who are completely clueless let me help you out http://www.amazon.com/Creature-Jekyll-Island-Federal-Reserve/dp/0912986212 )

Anyway I hope their NOT gone. They had a target audience which worked for them and I would hate to see those consumers have to find a new home or deal with riskier providers et al.

Sincerely,

Lisa,

Sorry for creating a controversy. It is good to hear from you and that everything is okay.

BTW, the site is still down as of writing.
