I need seafood recommendations, please! My last visit I ate a Pesci 3 times! I want to find another place like that; location, small, quaint, delicious and... DELICIOUS

Check out Old Ebbitt Grill. It's a DC original with a long history that serves up great seafood at a reasonable price.  My faves are the raw oysters and crab cakes.  Check out the reviews on yelp.

The Oval Room has remarkably consistent menus, including great seafood.  Or, check out the soft shell crabs at Bistro LePic in Georgetown. Also, Al Tiramisu, an Italian place just outside of Dupont, has great fresh fish.  Can't miss at any of these places.

The oceanaire, Blacksalt and Hank's oyster bar. I also like Tony and joe's in Georgetown but the service is awful.

DC Coast at 14th & K, Johnny's Half Shell near Union Station, Occidental Grill & Seafood on Pennsylvania Ave. near the White House; Oceanaire is good & Black Salt is excellent but a bit far from downtown.  And there are 2 McCormick & Schmick's, one on 9th St. in Penn Quarter the other at about 16th & K and they are bery good, better than Legal Seafood IMHO.  If you've got mobility, go over to Annapolis & park near the City Dock area & just walk around & find something; do not miss the crab cakes!

First and foremost I worked in the DC area for over 20 years as a Sommelier and management. To be honest, the DC area restaurant scene is highly overrated. The sad thing is that most/if not every place mentioned above is corporate. I am not going to lecture anybody here about quality being sacrificed for profits and if you do get quality, you are going to get gauged wit the bill.  So all I will say is look outside the box.

Maryland is known for crabs so my suggestion is

Cantlers in Annapolis for Crabcakes or traditional Maryland Steamed Blue Crabs
Makoto for Sushi in the Palisades area
Cafe Milano for the Dover Sole or the Braanzino

As far as a corporate place my vote goes to DC Coast in the McPhearson area.

Any questions send me a P

I'm definitely looking for a small, bistro style. Nothing corporate please :)
Something unique to the area. Like Pesce.

Try Hanks. (Hanksoysterbar.com).  Three locations, one near DuPont Circle. Eat outside or in.  Try the oyster sampler.  Lucky is the guy who sees you afterwards.  Enjoy!

Crisfield's in Silver Spring.  On Georgia Ave just beyond the District Line, easily walkable from the SS Metro Station.

It is small, looks like a dive, but all seafood is delicious.  Crab Norfolk is to die for.  They have 'Old Bay Seasoning' readily available which should tell you all you need to know.  Not Inexpensive.

It's not a small bistro but I wouldn't call it "corporate". The chef is amazing and has a great touch with seafood. It's not inexpensive but don't fear you'll be served overpriced, inferior food. The dishes at Fiola really are amazing.

G & M in Linthicum, MD, just off the Baltimore beltway.

I frequent this place about once a month.

And you are correct, they are very good crabcakes ... in my opinion, the best in the DC / Balt area.
I was under the impression that G & M and Timbuktu are under the same ownership, along with Hella's in Millersville.  Never ate at Hella's, but concur that the crabcakes at the other two places are among the best.

And G & M will ship them as well.  I would sometimes send some to out of town family members who otherwise would have those horrible crabcakes that were pasty and mostly filler

Not really... Dupont is your closest best bet

There is good Thai in WP and just up the road near the Uptown is INDIQUE, the coolest Indian fare imaginable, including some seafood dishes.  Ardeo is good bistro food
