may be the odd one here but I now seem to prefer porn over seeing providers.  It's been a good few months since I have hobbied.

There is simply no comparison between porn and a skilled --usually mature--provider.

I think I watched way too much porn to the point of over saturation. Got to the point where I am not interested. Then I  found the hobby. Nothing like the real thing to act out fantasy and things I saw in porn.  

If all you need is to pop, you can do that just fine with porn and can end up saving boatload of money. In my book, definitely beats trolling BP, but certainly no substitute for a full on GFE provider. So, if a good provider is not available, I will take porn over BP any day..

Yes porn is convenient  and fast, agreed. Better then wasting money on a lame experience, agreed. Now I have to concur with the gentlemen that posted " you are seeing the wrong ladies". Are you seeing providers with excellent reviews or ladies that charge less the average with okay reviews? If all he seeks is "to get my rocks off", then he probably is wasting time and money seeing providers.  The human interaction is one of the key aspects of seeing a provider rather than porn.  Back when the Love Goddess was hosting the Erotic Highway discussion board, there were numerous threads about building a stimulus response pattern watching porn that then interferes with ones ability to respond normally to a provider, or any woman for that matter.  If I recall correctly, the Love Goddess recommended at least 60 days cold turkey from porn to try to rebuild the normal response pattern to women.  Not all men are affected the same way, but many are.

I'm enjoying this thoughtful discussion. For me an important element is financial. If I coold be with a provider every time I get the urge that would be heaven...and I'd be broke. Porn led me to the hobby as I desired something real not vicarious. And porn fills in the spaces. I do worry that too much porn dulls one's response to the real thing. I try to take a week off before seeing a provider. Intrigued by the idea of being with a great lady and watching porn at the same time but would hope she didn't see that as sort of denigrating her skills. Any interest in that?
