Before all of you white knights jump on the bandwagon and try to get some brownie points, you got to think logically!
Why would a lady go to a professional photographer and take pix which is more than likely altered one way or the other. Altering pix does not necessarily mean using photoshop, it means using different shades, angles and such.
We all have done glamor shots here and there and a great photographer knows how to make even an ogre look good
When an agency or an indy girl goes to great extend to pay for professional pictures and use only those to market themselves, you must ask yourself why?
Why are you wanting to hold the ladies in this industry to a higher standard than the rest of the proffesions in this country? Are you asking us to put our worst foot forward?
Look at all of the Attorneys web sites and look thru their photos. Granted they are not glamor shots, but they also do not all look that good in person. When I was shooting with my photograper he was also doing head shots for Attorneys and I can tell you most of them looked better in their pictures.
Have you been to a Restaurant latley? Does you meal ever look like the one in the picture? I know that mine doesn't but it is the same meal. I could go on and on and on, but I think that we all get it. This is marketing and this is what we are involved in.
And I have proffesional photos done and they are made to portray me in the best light, but most of the gentlemen that have meet me say that I am much better looking than my picture, but maybe they are all just liars trying to make me feel better about my ougaris appearance.
With that being said if you keep your eyes open and do your homework you can spot the ladies using altered images.Lets face facts they are in this to make money and the way to do that is to have the best images possible of them to draw in clients.Every time I see a review where the guy says she looks better then her pics I say to myself "there's a girl who left money on the table" because if the pics were as beautiful as she is in real life she would probably be drawing in more business.A lot of them lie about their age, measurements, weight, and cup size.I see every day ad's that claim a girls has a C or D cup and they are a B cup at most lol
I have done pics for a lot of ladies in the hobby, and yes I had photoshopped some of them to make sure they were the best pic possible.I personally wont alter a pic to the point where it is no longer a fair representation of the subject tho.I wont do this and most of the ladies I have worked for don't want me too because if they get reviews that say she doesn't look like her pics that will kill her business.I only do photoshop to remove wrinkles or lines in the body due to the way she is posed or lines left on her skin because of restricted clothing.( bra and pantie lines ) Basically I only do touch up on things that wouldn't be seen in real life.
Like I said do your home work, that is where TER and using Agencies with good reputation's comes in.If a girl has pics and she is athletic build but the reviews say she has baby fat then she probably has altered her pics or is using pics that are 5 or 10 years old.Look at the pics you can usually tell if something is photoshopped drastically.Look at her skin if it looks plastic it is shopped.Skin has grain no body has such a creamy complexion that their skin looks totally smooth.
Lastly if you are looking at pics of a new girl with no reviews always keep in mind that they maybe be shopped or faked pics.Dont hate on a provider just because she has professional pics snap shots can be photoshopped too.
what I'm looking for is a lady who wants to put her best foot forward. If she cares about how she appears in her pics and shows the same concern for her appearance in person, I'm good.
ALL I ask for is "fair representation"
if shopping or posting or lighting pics is used to hide problems or distort her image, that's not fair representation
If however it is used to make her look her obviously recognizable best, I have no problem with that.
Hell - a couple of my housemates have been in the modeling biz. They are beautiful in their pictures, and beatiful to wake up to in the morning as well.....
Yes, I do them myself often. But is sure as hell is a pain in the ass to set the camera on a shelf, stool, or table. Set the timer. Run to get in front of the camera in time. Then take a look at the shot. And keep going till you get the shot. Please that alone is enough
LOL I feel your pain Noel self portraits are a big pain in the ass unless you are taking them through a mirror which to me just seems silly.
When I see crappy pics of a provider I also think to myself "if she is so half assed about the way she portrays herself is she going to be half assed in service?" I know that isn't always the case but it is the way to bet.
But that's just me I am a pic snob lol
I have always liked your pics Noel you are a hottie
the last time we met I noticed a little mole exactly 4.76869 inches below your left armpit that wasn't in any of the photos on your website.
Come on people. This subject has gotten blown way out of proportion the last week or so.
If anyone can honestly say that their experience with a provider would be effected because the lady's eye shadow is a different shade or their hair style has changed, than they should be upfront about their expectations when making the appointment.
If the lady in person is not the one in the ad's picture, or the picture is not recent that's another issue and that provider should be called out. But to harp on glamour shots or pics that are photo-shopped (usually to hide tattoos) is a little much.
By the way Noel I may be from the stoneage and my camera is all film equipment, I still know how to get a shot. If you need any assistance with future shots I'd be glad to help. You know how to get hold if me.
Little did I know, my photog works for playboy and other mags...and eventually the price for my photos were quite high! I just loved his work... to me he is worth it.
But, I still have some shots from a friend on my unprofessional site....lol...... I guess that keeps some sort of balance for me anyway.
You are going to harp on us for having professional, up-to-date photos done when before many were complaining about all the bad webcam photos that looked blurry/grainy. There is no winning, is there?
Photos done professionally should allow for a provider to put her best face forward, especially regarding that she will have a viewing audience.
You can never please everyone. That's the only thing I can take from this thread.
Put yourself in our shoes for a moment. If you chose to be a provider, and it was your career/job, you were handling your own marketing and image presentation, what type of photos would you choose to represent yourself to potential clients?
Personally, I like to use a combination of professionals and candids. It all comes down to personal preference, and Obviously, there are pros and cons to each.
Need to do some research and understand how professional photo shoots work. It's not about altering pictures or covering blemishes. How is a regular picture taken by someone else different than a professional picture? The advantages of professional pictures are:
1) Someone else is taking the picture! I don't have to stand in the mirror or lift a camera phone above my head to show my whole body.
2) Creative ideas! I'm not JUST paying for a woman/man to hold a camera. I'm paying for creativity, original ideas, and thinking outside the box!
3) They know what looks good, I don't have an eye for photography! People, especially women, are critical about themselves. I don't feel very sexy, but the photographer can put me in a mood where I feel comfortable enough to be myself and have fun.
If a photo is altered to the point of no return, men will know! No girl wants, "Her photos weren't accurate," in a review. If you prefer camera phone photos, that's fine. But, please don't insult women who pay for professional pictures. Those pictures aren't meant for the fridge, they are for you, the client.
