This is a repost from NYC but I thought it was important info.

It used to be one needed to have your cell phone in hand to spy/ now they don't even have to be in the room.
Please disable bluetooth and gps whenever possible

not sure. This site offers so many products not just this one....
the fraud page you linked to from 2009 and is quoted as saying:

"Conclusion

Ultimate Bluetooth Spy isn't really a packaged product but is a bunch of different zipped freeware that does not do what esteath claimed. They know this, and this is why they do not offer support, and will sue you for $10,000 should you try to claim your money back. Of course, in reality they can't do this, as you have basic consumer rights, but if you are stupid enough to believe their lies and accept their terms and conditions, then perhaps you would tricked into giving up your rights."

and the spy site states:

"30 Day Money Back Guarantee
If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, please return it within 30 days for a replacement or a full refund of the purchase price (shipping not included). You may request your refund by submitting a trouble ticket at www.spymastertools.com or calling our toll free number.  "

I for one hope you are correct.

I'm just going to toss my .02 in here.  There are numerous free tools, like Backtrack 5, that can find any wireless signal (bluetooth included) and provide vectors of attacking that device to gain access.  As for disabling GPS, you can turn off the GPS chipset in the phone but not the GPS in the radio chipset that is part of the 911 features of phones.  So in case of an emergency, the 911 operator can direct LE/EMS to you.  And to top it off, thanks to iPhones having safari as it's browser, a well crafted website can steal the data off of it without you knowing besides the other attack vectors.

Once I have the location and I am with in say a mile or so, the phone gets turned off so it stops recording info.  If I am really paranoid, I will pull the battery.  Believe it or not, phones turned off and still have the battery can be turned back on, camera turned on, mic turned on etc.

Theoretically possible... but for $69 and a 5 minute download to work against ANY phone? Please! This is better than the BP hookers that ask for your credit card number "to verify you."

Leaving your bluetooth on IS potentially dangerous. If you're not careful, folks CAN get in with a plain old PC with bluetooth, or another phone, though the version of bluetooth software may/may not make that possible.

Woe is me. What to do?!

Set your bluetooth visibility options to OFF. Keep your bluetooth off when you're not using it. And while you're at it, keep the WiFi off if you have that (same for your laptop) and aren't using it. Same problem.

Can we go back to talking about getting laid now?
