It seems like everyone is in Tysons these days. Anyone have in calls downtown or actually in the city. Hate driving all the way out to Tysons, especially for those those after work engagements.

List of why DC sucks:
:  Overly restrictive traffic lanes (for more $#% bike lanes that are used by perhaps 10 bikes a day)
:  Parking sucks (lots of street parking is gone thanks to.....see above)
:  10% additional meal tax (no way in heck will I ever eat in DC again)
:  14 1/2% hotel tax (includes not enough hotels, thus lack of supply = higher room rates)
:  25 mph speed limit almost everywhere

Hotels in DC often require paid parking with a CC.  I don't leave any paper trail.  It's also hard to find street parking.  Also, many hotels in DC are now more strict on guests.  Unsure if this has changed since 2022/2021, but it was tough to just walk into a hotel and use the elevator.

As of now Tysons is much easier.  Free parking.  Easy access.

All of the above.  That is why I frequently stay in Crystal City  (15-20 minutes away).  The cost of Downtown hotels anywhere these days combined with parking, food and other expenses is cost prohibitive.

DC is a headache. The parking, traffic, prices for hotels, and lack of discretion with key carded hotels.

I and majority of my clients prefer my private incall in Arlington.

I used to see providers in the DuPont/Downtown area, but I don't see many hosting there anymore. Parking is becoming a nightmare for the reasons spelled out by others. Crystal City is better but not great for parking. Tysons and the Mosaic District in Fairfax are more convenient to me and have MUCH easier parking.

I don't work downtown anymore, but I still have former work friends that I meet for lunch and doctors /dentists down there. When I see them it takes me longer to find parking than it does for the 16 mile commute to get there. I typically spend 15-30  minutes looking for parking and find it only 6-10 blocks away unless I want to pay more than $20 for a commercial garage which isn't much faster given that it would still be be at least a few blocks away and requires several minutes to get to the non-reserved parking (usually the lowest level) and figure the way in and out by elevators.

I have taken to meeting my work friends when they are working from home in their neighborhoods.

I would rather drive the 40 minutes to Tyson's or BWI and not deal with the parking issues in DC. There is only one hotel that I know of in the Tyson's area that charges for parking but I was there the other day and never realized that there is some free parking available on the service road right in front of the hotel.

I've seen ladies in Crystal City and I have never had an issue there with street parking. Yes, it's metered, but it's only a few dollars and for morning appointments it's not a problem finding spots.

It is a shame that DC has mismanaged the Metro into the ground.  Service is unreliable and crime is at an all-time high.  Dupont Circle was right in the middle of the system and area hotels and private incalls were plentiful.  IMHO DC government is more concerned with being woke than ensuring safe and reliable mass transit.  They are killing downtown and more than just the hobby with their nonsense.

More Metro mismanagement....

The laugher?   Spending money  (SCARCE $$$) to rename the Tysons Corner station?

:  to "Tysons"

gubment bureaucrats..... being paid 6 figures

Metro has too many political bosses to answer to, and it has been too willing to bend to their will. Most of Metro's track is about 40-50 years old, and funding for maintenance took a back seat to extending hours (which cut into time available for overnight maintenance too)  and lengthening lines to please local politicians with the result that the situation is now dire and requires a multi-year fix. And it isn't just DC. Metro has to answer to DC, Maryland, and Virginia at the state level and DC, Montgomery, Prince Georges, Fairfax,  Loudon, Arlington counties; and Alexandria city, Fairfax city and Falls Church city at the local level. The Federal Government is on the Metro Board too, but it has been the lonely voice in favor of safety and maintenance.

Metro will eventually get fixed, but I am afraid that I may be too old for the hobby by the time it does.

The problem with Tysons is that the police sting and arrest in Virginia, not in Washington

Never heard of this happening in Tyson's even though it seems to be THE place for ladies to visit in the DC area.

I've never seen anyone having issues in Tysons unless they were at trashy, cheap hotels known for drug dealers and working girls AND they were being obvious or causing issues (typically noise).

DC does stings all the time, but not on higher end independents for the most part.

Unless you're seeing trashy pay by the hour/day motels, there are no LE in the hotels I visit.  All of them are used by business and traveling people.  This is why seeing the right type of person matters.  Trash is not welcomed.

I think Fairfax County (where Tysons is) is probably the safest local jurisdiction in the DC area. As long as neither of you is making a scene or too much noise that upsets other guests, I think the hotels are happy for the business. They can't tell when a an out-of-town visitor is working, but I don't think they have any illusions about what is going on when I single local woman is checking in and I don't think they call the cops with discreet clients.

As someone who's based in NOVA and closer to Tysons, I have now come to a point where I simply refuse to drive to DC to meet a companion. The traffic and the parking in DC is too much of a headache.

Like you've said, there are plenty who visit Tysons, so I'm not short on options. I still see plenty visiting DC though.

On this, I will defend Metro. I think that the big cost of changing a station name is multiple new maps on every single car and in every station (we are talking many thousands of new maps) and also changing every brown pillar listing the stations on the lines connecting to that station (this must be several hundred at least).

I don't who had the idea to change these station names, but the it has to be a local or state jurisdiction and the jurisdiction requesting the name change has to pay for the changes, so it is local politicians rather than Metro itself. There  was no choice on White Flint. White Flint has to be renamed because it is named after a shopping mall that was demolished a few years ago and won't be rebuilt. Letting the others piggyback on White Flint => North Bethesda is cheaper by far than doing it one at a time.

I am interested in downtown incalls. Some of us still work downtown, at least hybrid. I’d be interested in seeing more ladies downtown since Tysons is a bit of a drive for me.

Any recommendations appreciated because it’s pretty dry.

Despite supposed LE stings, I think more ladies should be in Montgomery county. If they screen and do all the right things then a police sting shouldn’t be an issue. They are more interested in massage places (easier for them too) than busting a traveling companion or a local girl who works out of a hotel once in a while.

However, in these bleak times for Metro, it is an expense that is not mandatory for safety, maintenance, or even system upgrades.

So "White Flint" Mall was demolished years ago, so what?  (With that I despise the Lerners and hope that they sell the Nationals quickly and take Danny Snyder out of town).  North Bethesda is just what used to be called "Kensington" 30 years ago.  The same with the recent movement to "rename streets/schools/anything a bureaucrat can get their hands on.  The money can/should be spent elsewhere...or heck, I think people will appreciate a "tax break".

Funny, when I asked most of my friends, it was divided right down by who worked in a 'gubment' job vs the private sector.  If you check out any local social media discussions, it is heavily weighted towards leaving station names the way they are.  Again, all agreeing that the $$$ were better off spent elsewhere.
