Hobbyists: does it make any difference to your experience if you know that your provider is single, and isn't dating outside the hobby?

I am interested.

However, I would guess that providers would also be mildly curious as to the status of their clients.  

We have each made our decisions, but I think it helps us put the work relationship into perspective to know where the other one stands, and it helps to relate to each other.  

I am also interested in knowing a bit about a provider's kids (#, gender, age(s) but nothing more), just to make a bit more of a connection. I reciprocate.

Hmmm, fascinating. I always assumed discretion was best, and that it would be declasse to broach the topic with hobbyists. Also, figured that dates were sort of a fantasy space and a small vacation from hobbyist's daily lives. I guess that might be true for some but not all. What you mention about establishing perspective seems emminently reasonable too!

As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to share my status, esp bc there's nothing much to share: single, no interest in dating outside the hobby, zero children, actually celibate by choice for the last 5 months (and crazy horny!) My new career is my re-emergence!

I always wonder how those talks go.

If he DOES know about her work, they must have established some boundaries (she doesn't DFK/LFK, or she saves certain acts ONLY for him, or no overnights etc.)

If he DOESN'T know, I wonder how she's so good at hiding it or if they're long distance or if he's oblivious.

 
And then I wonder what it would be like for me to date a provider.
So long answer short, yes it does affect me though most of that curiosity/nosiness is internal and has no relevance to anyone but myself.

Many will say it doesn't matter, I mean the majority of men are either married or in relationships, but should it come up that you are in a relationship, many will be miffed.  

 
Not my current situation, but previous experience. People don't necessarily want to date you, but they'd like to feel like they could...

With 95% of the providers I've seen they haven't told me and I haven't considered it any of my business.  

A couple ladies who I've seen multiple times have told me that they are in relationships, and I continued to see them, so it honestly hasn't made a difference to me. However, in those few cases I remember where a regular provider told me she was in a relationship, they ended up leaving the hobby or stopped coming back to DC soon after.

some of the best experiences I have had have been with providers who are Swingers with their SO's IRL.

and although she is VERY hot, I won't see her professionally again unless and until she dumps the BF.  

My reason is simple, she loves the BF  and it shows in the way she has sex, She is quite frankly a "lousy lay" and is completely lacking in passion with her customers. I called her on this and she finally admitted the truth, that she just can't be convincing with her customers because she saves all that for her novio. I don't hold any of this against her, but I won't have sex with her again unless she dumps the BF.

To answer the larger question, what I don't know won't hurt me. I never ask if  lady has an SO, and quite frankly it's none of my business unless I plan on asking her out on a "date" and not a session

BTW I have dated lots of hookers, some relationships had a few ground rules like "no overnights" , but not all. I am currently sort of dating a hooker, but we have zero ground rules either for her, or for me. We are both free to do what ever we want, and if we go an entire week without seeing each other because one of the other is busy with work. so be it.

It's difficult, it not impossible, for her to become a sustained "ATF", or develop into friendship, where we may hang out and take trips together.
