Can anyone explain why we get so many illiterate reviews? Some of these posters apparently know English as a fifth language...these lack all credibility. And before some jackass calls me out for not posting reviews, tried twice, they were rejected, so now I just pay to read.

I suppose some people might be dumbing down their style, grammar, and spelling on purpose. Perhaps they don't want the writing to be traced to other pieces they may have published elsewhere.

Whatever the reason, there are a few who throw in horrendously funny spelling obviously for entertaining, while their reviews are fairly informative.

Us ESOL people actually tend to write better - well, at least those who can afford to hobby. We'll never write "definately" or "should of"...

Those that know you love you and know it's not about education (which you have), it's about intelligence, which you have as well and the alias just showed his ignorance.

You speak Korean, some Japanese, and English which makes you a multi-cutural work of art !

I think sometimes when I write a review, I am all caught up in the moment and do not go back and fix the grammar, like I would in Master's Thesis. I see after the fact that I have left out a word or two. I am see that I transpose letters alot.

Some of the reviewers here are actually from somewhere else and try to write reviews from there perspective. They think in there own language and then replace the words in there language with words in English.

Would you rather they not post or write reviews. If I dropped you Thai land could you write a review in Thai or any other language?  I have been to many other countries where I have had to communicate using hand gestures to get laid, let alone write it down.

Agreed 100%. That shows the level of the person more than grammar or spelling. Don't they realize that ALL CAPS will be taken less seriously, not more?..

And yes, I am curious, why our moderators don't just send these back for a quick edit.

First of all..I think its kinda fucked up to JUDGE someone because they used CAPS or grammar mistake on their review..I'm pretty sure U have ur weakness too and Do u feel happy if someone judge u by just ur weakness?? Come on man...


I no I have problem on my writing and Its my fault to made u guys frustrated or confused..

But, I think I tell(trying least) all the valuable points on review and i'm pretty sure some guy get infos from it.

I will be more cautious and take my time before I write any review from now on..

I agree about the illiteracy. Lately, I've run into a number of reviews that are practically unreadable. Misspellings, no punctuation, no paragraph breaks. A couple don't even make sense.

Not looking for high literature, but clear communication would be nice.

- really. I agree absolutely that we do not come here to judge or make fun of  others' spelling or grammar. Useful info to plan our hobby explorations is what we look for.
And actually, with your writing in particular I never had a problem.

Here, I found it for you and others: the guy's handle is "eroticross". What do you think?.. I enjoy his writing enormously. Too bad he seems to have moved to CA.. Deliciously scrambled, all low case, almost no punctuation... and yet very well composed, by someone who knows how to write concise and helpful. Note how each of his reviews has a fine and fitting concluding sentence!..

ALL CAPS, on the other hand, convey certain kind of attitude. And they tend to betray a diminished mental capacity. I am serious and will stick to this one. Those poor folks just don't get it. It is like when speaking - you won't get more real attention if you YELL, it will not add more weight to what you are trying to say. I have found that speaking softly and slowly has much better effect.

Finally, I beg to differentiate mistyping and text message abbreviations from misspelling or poor grammar simply because the person does not know any better. No, I won't *judge*, in a sense that if a person spells "definately", I won't say or think that he is a *bad* person. I will take notice about his educational level, however. Not that there is anything wrong with that
