Attacking/questioning one of the holy grails. Some others are:

Constitution, Christianity, women's freedom to choose, owning fire arms.

Freedom, democracy, election (however controlled by big money), only exist in the US.

One thing is true, that is, right to own weapons to blow up the county you live and beyond. Next NRA will be lobbying for bombs, we have to protect from the onslaught of the taliban.

Don't get me wrong, I support hunters, not the militia crap.

Not sure how many ladies do this regularly, but I was wondering do non-military gentleman ever get a little miffed about not being included.

Kisses,
Vanica

As the t-short says, "I have the pussy. I make the rules."

Not to dis the men and ladies in green (I was there once too)... but are they the only onces doing valuable things for their countries, or putting their lives on the line.

Does it bother me? No. Do I think it makes complete sense? Not necessarily.

However, as I said, a lady can do as she chooses, and it is not my place to question her choice.

The only exception would be things that would risk me or my health unnecessarily.

I applaud anyone that does anything to make there lives better. They are underpaid, under appreciated, put there lives on the line so that people can protest and have freedom of speech and mostly free will.  As the previous poster put it. Its your body and your time, use it as you feel fit.

I did not know that our freedoms and (mostly free will) were ever in jeopardy.

Just a couple questions. I was recently in Spain and people were protesting daily against the Spanish government as well as the Isreali govt (due to the Isreali navy attacking Gaza supply ships). Nobody, was getting arrested for speaking his/her mind. What makes you feel like outside the US's borders that all freedoms (especially speech) are restricted?

Did you live or grow up in North Korea where if you spoke out against Kim Jong-il, you would be punsihed severely?

I agree that a lady can do as she chooses and play the market, maybe a little incentive for military/veteran guys to choose her.  On the other hand, I agree that a lot of folks not in uniform also serve their country or community.  I would like to commment that today's military is all volunteer, so anybody without impediments could sign up and serve.  But it's also true that a lot of folks who join today do so more because of economic considerations (need a job plus educational opportunities) rather than patriotic ones.  Still, they do often end up putting their lives and well-being on the line, a whole lot more than folks signing up for ordinary jobs.
So the bottom line to me is, respect your serving military folks for their service, give equal respect to others who serve their community/country, and if a lady wants to give one group or the other a price break, let the market decide.  If she interests you & you can take advantage of the discount, go for it, if it offends you, look elsewhere.
BTW, 6 years active military service, 15 years Reserve service, 35+ years civilian service for DoD, so I think I can speak.

As a person that spent ten years in the military, I don't ask for nor expect a discount. However, I do sometimes get a little miffed since it is offered and I have no proof (ID) to show that I was in the military. I would just like the respect given to the other military persons to be shown to us veterans too. I guess if a provider would accept a DD-214 (Discharge Paper) then I might feel better about it.

I registered for the Selective Service almost 40 years ago but they didn't want me. I wish I got some record to prove it. Perhaps I could get a discount. :(

Perhaps I am in error about this, but my understanding is that compensation in the military is somewhat beneath that in the private sector.  So that may be a factor in determining rates.  I think anyone who makes an accommodation for our service people (and that's men and women) is to be commended.  Our service members put their lives on the line in a way that few civilians do.  I have never worn the uniform of our country, but I think that some recognition should be accorded them for what they do.  Just my thoughts on the matter.

who serves their country or their community is recognized in a special way, regardless of their contribution.
