Yes there is an agency only board, however it doesn't address the issue of "industry". TER has always treated Agencies as second class citizens by end result. It is what it is, and you merely work with it.
There is an Agency Alert system in place and information is often shared, however it doesn't help the greater community. Personally, I have always questioned the wisdom of creating division between Agencies and Independents when in reality we all have to deal with the same issues. People who are the mismatcher personality types will argue well your apple pie has a wavy crust and our apple pie crust is smooth, therefore it's not the same. In these moments the concept , "dude it's an apple pie" is totally lost on them.
As an Agency owner, my people come to me for solutions to everything and guess what ? I have to have working answers every-time on every possible issue you could encounter in being a provider. Something most never consider. In the big picture, perhaps we don't need separate boards we're all in the same industry.
As for TER policy, every now and then it is good to stop and examine the paradigm you base a policy on. The prospective may be convenient to you, however it no longer reflects the reality of the people you serve. Business encounters this all the time and is why the capitalist system of competition can create a better product.
Anyway, this issue has been around ever since I can remember and will be around long after many of us are gone. One of many questions is how will we evolve to deal with it ?
Sincerely,
