I think he is saying you should join the Reviewer Only Board if you are concerned such things.
To answer your question from my perspective. TER is one of many sources you can use for researching. TER is based on the reviews submitted and the discussion boards it has. You can ask on the local board about a provider to see is anyone has any information for you. If the person has no reviews on TER you can do what many do: just take her off you list of potential providers.
There are tons of scammers in the business locally and everywhere. it is the nature of the game. I follow three simple rules to avoid the worst: 1: Only see providers with legit reviews (or legit agencies) 2: Dont provide more personal info than you are comfortable with for screening. 3: NEVER SEND MONEY DEPOSIT Most scammers are just after the deposit. Sub-par providers can be avoided by reading reviews.
The tight travel schedule is not necessarily a sign of a scam. The XO agnecy had their girls do tours with two dozen or more cities back to back, two or three days each city. They were a great agency with some of the hottest women ever... too bad they got busted.
