I support TER policy of making sure no name is being posted, this is clearly a great policy. Guilty or not, it is not good to have your name be on a site linked to adult content. Google will find your name when your kid is searching for you and that ain't cool.

Saying that, the main reason I am with TER is for the information that I get from it. Now most times the information is about some hot little blonde in town with big boobs who is willing to entertain an old fart like me, but other times I sort of like to make sure my safety is not jeopardized when I go to the local hotel trying to see if little john is going to work for me that day or not.

I saw the postings this past few days and clearly some of them were out of line and carried people’s names and that was not cool, but others talked about possible stings operations, some even at the federal level. Now that is a good information to have vs trying to search on google for various keywords.

One provider I was hoping to see yesterday asked me for my TER user name and I asked why are you asking that, she said she wanted to make sure I am not a snitch, WTF? Apparently they have their own database and all sort of stuff is there, we as hobbiest cannot be putting our heads in the sand and thinking it is OK.

Hope this opens up the door for healthy and responsive discussions.

Trust me on this. The mods and TER are doing things for your safety. It is best not to discuss things. Make sure you get a lawyer and STFU.

I agree with you completely but unfortunately sites like these don't always attain the ideals we would hope they do.  IMP, day to day it largely serves the purpose of facilitating collaboration and is of benefit to the community, but unfortunately beneath the surface there is something ugly that becomes more apparent at times like these.  The fact is people are really out for themselves and there is an elite group of folks on the back-channel.  Also just look at the former owners of this board as well as the other prominent board to see some recent examples.

I've understood this from the start and use it for a research tool, nothing more.  The community here is not something I trust, and while there are exceptions, and aside from those with no reviews asking blatantly stupid questions, that trust level actually goes down when the post and review levels of a member go up.

The irony is that those who this board is meant to empower actually end up beholden to the whim of providers, agencies, and the interests of those behind the site itself.

This is just my opinion and I haven't named anyone... will this post be allowed to survive?
