I asked these questions on the national board a while back.

The question was whether an provider or agency can offer
discounts in exchange for a review.  My post was prompted by a
NY agency offering freebies to a board contest winner in
exchange for a review.

Staff (capital S) weighed in and said FREEBIES offered in
exchange for reviews were prohibited.  The NY agency was able to
do the contest but could not REQUIRE a review as terms of
winning.

Not sure if discounts fall under this same rule.

If people want, I can link the thread(s).

If my post has offended or violated a board rule, then I apologize and I rescind it.

There are many who like to call and negotiate arrangements with me and this was just another way of me responding to demand.

There are reviews posted and it's really not that serious.

I have one question, what is the difference when a lady offers special rates for members of this board and my post?  Isn't that primarily what she is implying?  Or maybe I'm too direct huh?

I hope you have a good day and I hope you find something to do on this beautiful day!

Take care,

Sy'

I for 1 find SyMon's request/offer to be refreshing in its honesty.  I was not aware of any of Staff's rules regarding discounts v/v freebes.  I will inquire, and post the results of that inquiry.

SyMon, please don't give up on us and keep posting.  You have not offended me in particular, and from the looks of the other posts, not many others.  I understand what you are doing, and while your methods may be unorthodox, they are open and honest.

I will post the result of any guidance I get.

Your average person will tend to give better reviews for a
discounted session.  I would tend to think that this bias rises
as the discount rises.

Special rates for members is not exchanging anything for a
review.  Alot of these rules you need to be a lawyer to parse
their exact meaning.  Have you ever read the performance scores
rules?  Now those are complicated.

These are not my rules.  I just mentioned it because I had asked
a question about it and got a very specific answer from Staff.

Like I said, Staff only specified FREE sessions in exchange for
reviews.  I am not sure about discounted sessions.

Please check out the link I posted in below on the thread I
mentioned.

Looked at the entire thread, and from my Personal (with a capital P) point of view, I see no difference between the offering discounts to TER members and offering discounts for reviews.  I agree with your original premise that their should be no discussion of the contents of the review, but who is to know and who is to decide?  Maybe Staff has the right idea.  In any event, SyMon responded appropriately and with class.  Lets see what the TER management has to say.

Thats your privlege.  Dingus15 will be here later in the week, and I trust he will be able to answer any questions you may have.  In the meantime, we will wait for a response from Staff to see what if any problems he may have with SyMon's offer.

I read numerous boards - NY, Philly, LA, DC, Boston and even
Florida and Atlanta sometimes, not to mention the non-city
specific boards.

You'd be surprised at the wealth of information that's on these
boards.  I'm also surprised how many people don't venture
outside their local board.

have fun,
