Is this actually a convenient area for DC people to meet up?

There is lots of traffic and I don't just mean the cars driving around.  Easy to blend in and not be noticed.  Of course that is the thinking. I'm sure there are other reasons, but those come to mind.

If you were a provider, where else would you stay? Not Maryland MoCo. NOW gets quite a bit, but that's all on the Maryland board, not D.C.board. In D.C., DuPont has a lot of hotels and metro access. Fair number, if not most, non-tysons ads are for dupont. So, in VA... Tysons is attractive because it's got a huge work population and is somewhat convenient for just about all of NoVA... Or at the very least, is central... Dulles, Herndon, Springfield, Alexandria... All circling tysons.

Lots of hotel choices. Other places in NoVa with a big concentration of hotels, like Crystal City or Dulles, are probably harder to get to for more guys. Springfield has lots of hotels, but more 2-3 star types of properties.

A multiplicity of hotels.
Reasonable rates for DC region
Most hotels have free self parking
Plenty of restaurants and shopping
Reasonable cab ride from National or Dulles airports
Acessible via several roadways
Has a metro stop

While I work out of offices in Dwntwn DC and Tysons.  On occassions an appointment in Dupont or other Dwntwn DC location is convenient per my schedule that day.  Tysons is by far more convenient for me for the following reasons:

Plenty of hotel options available that offer easy parking.  And Tyson's is fairly convenient to get to. Traffic can be bad but if you plan ahead it's not that big of a problem.

Tyson has very reasonable rates and  it's hobby friendly. I haven't been there yet but I do get a lot of requested appointments there so I will be going in the near future.  It's also very popular including Alexandria,VA and Arlington,VA ( Both cities, I have been to and it was very easy for gentlemen to travel to there)

Yes, lots of free parking! Priceline use to be a lot more reasonable with rates a few years ago and then they went high. Are they reasonable again? Traffic is baddddd lol but my strategy for that area is get in that area by 2 and travel anywhere on the beltway or to DC until after 7! lol when I go against that I regret it lol.

...areas to play in followed by Arlington (typically Crystal City or Rosslyn), Fairfax to Dulles and BWI/Baltimore.
If you're trying to figure out if it's a good spot to stay in I say it's one of many.

I have been coming to Tysons Corner for past 4 yrs

I travel to NOVA/DC quite often.  I found that I do very well in Alexandria, Baltimore, and the Reston area.  I posted something like yours a few weeks ago.  I have heard completely the opposite of what is being posted in this thread.  Many gentlemen has said to me that they don't like the Tyson's corner area because it is difficult to get to and there is to much traffic.  Perhaps the next time I return,  I will give the Tyson's corner another shot.

...now that the majority of the construction is done it's pretty easy to get around.

It's only central if your conception of the metro area is Fairfax+Arlington. Otherwise, it is on the western edge of hobby locations (apart from Dulles). And the idea that it is easy to get around is relative. It still has some of the worst traffic in the metro area, although it is not as bad as when they changed freeway lane patterns every few weeks due to construction.
