Many of us hobbyists rely on TER reviews and boards to find suitable providers.   When TER went away for like 18 months recently, I reduced my hobby activities significantly and I imagine I was not alone.   Even now, I tend to avoid providers who are new to me if they don’t have a TER review since its return last December.  

I’m curious, what was it like for you ladies when TER was down?  Did business suffer?   We’re you able to find adequate replacement sites for your marketing?  Did the lack of new TER reviews on you have any impact?  

I used other review sites as well as having a very active twitter.

No my business didn't suffer due to TER going away or me not having new reviews on here. For a month or so in Spring 2018 I was horrified as I thought I wouldn't make it. Ultimately things worked out perfectly. I've raised my rates a couple times in less than two years and I've luckily been able to invest in professional content I love and am deeply proud of. TER is super useful in ways. But compelling marketing is much more than relying on one website.  

If anything, the closing of Backpage has had a more detrimental effect on my business. It was more mainstream than this or any other review site. TER, etc seemed like a client had to be in the know to even stumble across it and sign up. Whereas BP was always the top in Google searches and referred to more in popular culture so new clients always knew to search on there.

As a unique provider--a provider couple, it affected us in two very different ways. First, from an advertising perspective it was tough because we had relied heavily on it when promoting our tours (we are based in Phoenix, but see very few Phoenix clients--usually we see people visiting Phoenix or we see people when we tour to other cities like Chicago and the east coast including DC, Philly and NYC). Without TER, it was tough to advertise because some of the mainstream other ad sites like Eros and Slixa do not let us advertise as a couple. This made it so that either Tori advertised alone (which was not an accurate ad since we only see clients together) or we couldn't advertise.

The second, and maybe just as significant set back, was that it made it harder for us to identify good duo partners in cities where we didn't know anyone or where a client was looking for a particular type to be the fourth. Since we get a lot of duo requests (guys like to have 4somes!), we rely on reviews to find the right compatible partner. Although we do have a number of good friends, due to schedules or body types, we found it tough to do research to find good matches.

All that to say we are glad TER is back and hope everyone is enjoying each other these days because to follow the news is a bit depressing.
