I'll say it again....

A couples months ago, I decided to give this whole escort thing a try, but I didn't do enough research to find sites like this. I went looking through backpage ads, and called half a dozen girls/agencies before I found one available. I was told rather than paying 180 for one girl, I could pay 280 for 2. I said sure.

When they arrived, they were not as they looked in the pictures... I decided to pay anyway because I really wanted their service. After I paid, the called the agency and said they collected the money, and told them my name which they read off my ID.

After that, things were awkward. I expected them to start taking their clothes off, or make sexually suggestive remarks, or kiss me or something... but nothing. They asked me what I wanted to do. At this point I was afraid it may have been a police sting, because they hadn't made any mention of sex for money and I felt like they were trying to get me to.

I said something along the lines of, "Well I'm sorry I'm nervous cause this is my first time paying. I think you know what I want, how about we get started?"

To which the little scammers replied, "Ummm how are we supposed to know? What do you wanna do?

I tried thinking of a way to get things started without saying anything that could be used against me in case it was a sting... So I asked "Do you want to kiss me?"

"No... no physical contact is allowed, you know what an escort is right?"

This was a sexually suggestive ad on Backpage... I think they said the agency was called "Petite Blondes" and I think it operated out of Virginia but they came to DC for me.

WTF? How common is this type of scam and how can it be avoided? I thought there was no such thing as a real "escort" and it was all a cover...? I mean especially with the ones that post suggestive ads on Backpages.

Unfortunately this happened a couple months ago so I can't find the link or give more info on the scammers.

I often check the new reviews and I always see one or two new reviews that mentioned that provider rip them off. You were scammed by an organized ripoff agency here in the Washington D.C. metro area. They post on BackPage and Eros. Attach is a sample of those ripoff ads. 99% of that ads listed in the website below are ripoffs.

Your case is not an isolated case but it happens more frequently in this area because the ads are operated by an organized ripoff agency. Your scenario is similar to other guys that get rip off. Everything you mentioned is what I often see in the ripoff reviews.

Unfortunately, it does happen to those that are inexperience in this hobby. This hobby can be very enjoyable if you know who to see. My advice is to only see well reviewed ladies.

twenty years ago, calling an ad from the yellow pages. Long before Al Gore invented the internet to enable this wonderful hobby. So, these agencies have been around for a long time. They evidently do this a lot with newbies and foreign travelers. Good thing the ladies didn't have a pimp and beat you up. Count your losses to a lesson well learned.
The three most important things parts of this hobby are research, research, research.

Indeed this ring advertises daily multiple times - newbies like you - provide a good income. Fake, pics - demands for ID and they have your home address.  Avoid outcalls, read the reviews here (daily) and research, research, research.

or EROS, check the lists that LamontCranston69 posts, usually on Friday.

See, for example:
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=250189&boardID=6&page=1#250189

If Lamont indicates that the escort has other photos on the web, as for example when he finds photos elsewhere, as:

Hits on Photo: http://tinyurl.com/oz6a25v

I suggest you STAY AWAY.

Occasionally I post a list of the “permanent” rip-offs who post on Eros,`“permanent” rip-offs posting now on EROS (Repeat) Posted 5/11/2013 at 6:05:02 PM.`

See http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=249007&boardID=6&page=6#249007

There women on Eros have been around for years, and I have assumed that everyone knew them, but clients still get caught.  They rip the clients off and after receiving a bad review, change their phone number and their name very slightly to avoid detection.  My list of rip-offs on Eros is 67, 59 of whom I have confirmed with a TER review.

Backpage is much worse.  On Backpage, avoid any woman who says “Outcall Only” or “No Incall Location”, especially if she has a very attractive rate ($160, $180, or $200).  My list of rip-offs on Backpage currently stands at 154 rip-offs 144 of whom I have verified with a TER review.  The list was getting to long to maintain.

It’s revolting

...or the cost of an education.  Dont sweat it.   Get worred however if you let it happen again while  you know TER exist!

if it was only a few bucks.  Worse is  getting  threatened by a pimp, getting  an STD, or going to eat pussy and finding a cock down there.  Shit happens in this hobby for those who don't do research.

When I first started out, before I discovered TER, it was very hit and miss and I was caught in a similar scam.  Ad in local paper with adult ads.  Paid the money upfront.  Girl puts the money away, asks what I would like to do and indicates that sexual conduct is illegal.  She was willing to stay an hour with me as agreed but clothes on and talking only.  I recall that her thug male companion was close by outside the door.  Part of the learning process.  Since TER, I haven't been in a scam since but you still get bad or average performances from a girl.

Scams are easy against guys like us because we are engaged in an illegal activity and they know that we won't report it.  Easy money for the scam artists.

You can have some "fun" with them - now that you know better - I ran two of these girls around Northern Virginia - all night - laughed my ass off when they would call, "no you took a wrong turn"..."you didn't get the directions right"...yes just knock on the door (it wasn't my place). Finally, they gave up..

...If the live version was so butt ugly and you had to walk then yes you were scammed.

....if she was at least decent looking and you paid, but, you had a shitty session, then yes, you were scammed.

No Shyt!?!?!?  Really???  I love it!

I wanna do that one day...just run a scammer bitch all over DC and make her say...."damn, he got me"

But these bitches are smart...they'll call your incall location to make sure you're there i.e. get name and room number.

The experienced ones get away with it for a reason..

I've suggested this multiple times in the past -

Those wiTh burner phones should send these scammers all over DMV looking for imaginary clients.

I don't do outcall.  It's safe enough with a well-reviewed provider, but I don't like waiting to see if/when she shows up, and that the provider has me at a disadvantage... Knowing where I stay/live and being able to make a scene if I don't comply with whatever her demands may be.

In addition to TER research, I recommend googling the phone number.  If identical ads appeared in other cities, I think it increases the likelihood she's legit, and greatly minimizes he potential that it's a sting.

I travel a fair amount, and lean increasingly towards AMP's.  The price and service can't be beat, and the risk of problems is near zero.  There too, some research helps.
