Oooff ... Katherine Avery! Anyone know whatever happened to her. About the biggest loss ever to this area, at least in my book.

Always enjoyed the talent at TGND and was my go to agency for awhile back in the early 2000's.  Can't recall a specific provider like OP, however if not mistaken Pamela of Elite used to work there as well.

The phone person (not sure if owner or not) was named Cindy I believe. Great on the phone and I always fantasized what she would be like in person.

Mainly because they were up in MD and was a bit of a hike for me to go all the way from Herndon. I used to live in Herndon at the time..  But I did see Dara from the agency. I vividly remember the rigamarole I had to go through to get to her incall. She would meet you in the lobby, then take you to a certain floor, and then would walk to another floor using the stairs..  LOL Does anyone remember that?  

I remember her telling me she was going into the biz the one and only time I saw her. She may have been in the process of moving out to California to get into the biz.

Wow!  Do I remember them!  Who was the girl with the short "Dorothy Hamill" haircut who was adorably cute?  I remember in those days that there were several really reputable and reliable agencies.  I found an article from 2008 in The Washingtonian.  While it mostly is about DC's former strip clubs and red light district, it did note that, in 2005, there were 133 escort listing and 40 massage parlor listings back when people still used the Yellow Pages.
