The discussion board doesn't seem to be as active or interesting as it was when the ads were part of the discussion board.  People could comment/respond and the threads became interesting.  The pics were always a draw or tease.   Has anyone else felt this way?

I like the way things are now. It is easier to find the ads. I missed a lot of ads because of discussions causing things to scroll off 3 or 4 pages back.

Perhaps there are many posts that haven't been approved or have been disapproved altogether.  So that may be a reason the board seems not as active.  Only the moderator knows this.

I have been backed up writing reviews, seeing new ladies, and reading new reviews. As a result I have not been posting as much.

I can check out the ads and not have to weed through the other posts. It also keeps posts on both boards on the 1st page longer so I don’t miss current ads and there seems to be longer discussions.

It was a good idea - but seeing 4 days of posts on the first page of the DC board shows there is very little interaction now.

Not sure if it's the uneven economy, time of year, inflated pricing, or LE, but there seems to be a malaise about the hobby.

So the reality is the board activity is up when you average both boards together and that doesn't take into consideration the dilution that the Maryland board caused since it's creation.

Take away the pic posts of the day and the agency posts showing all girls in their ads it looks like the real discussion posts are down.

I've also notices a lot more ISO posts lately.  

Activity and real interaction are two different things- IMO

Much better, imho.  When I want to see an ad, I know where to see them all in one place.  When I'm interested in discussion, I don't have to wade through ads I'm not interested in.  Big improvement.

The DC Board is just a reflection of the state of hobbying around here. If you want to check the pulse of local hobbying, you look here. There does seem to be a bit of a slowdown in hobbying and it's probably for all of the above reasons.

Be that as it may, I like the separation of the boards. I no longer have to weed through comments an questions in order to find the ads.

Each thread seems to get the attention it deserved.

When someone asks about something, there's more time for it to get a descent response from a larger audience.

By no means is this board dead.  

It's thriving.
