Ocean City????
You can do way better than that. As a Hawaiian I am a bit spoiled but the cold, geryish-brown water, jellyfish, and trashy crowd of Ocean City is an embarrasment to Maryland. I especially find the dudes with their thousand dollar surfboards riding 2 foot waves downright silly.

Dont get me wrong the east coast has its share of nice beaches.  The Outer Banks of NC, The Hamptons of NY, Even Cape May, NJ are nice and all within a few hours drive from DC.

Oh and one more thing. Have fun spending all Friday evening waiting to cross the bridge.

I prefer going during the week to avoid the traffic.  I always check the weather report too, nothing worse than driving there and finding it's going to rain for the next three days.  

It's a wonderful idea though, and everyone loves a little tan.
