Washington DC

I caught it too.

A newer board member with just two reviews included almost the EXACT in call address on both reviews (sans the room number). WTF?

And why didn’t the moderators catch this?

I’m not going to link the reviews, but they are fairly recent.

...you reported it to Contact Us and the reviewer too?! :)

I caught that too last night. Mind was blown...

Someone did that on USA-SG with a similar type place too... except not specific numbers.

But that guy changed it now.!...it's all good. I was thinking about contacting said incall and saying turn reviews off for a little while, lol. I'm like I can't go back any time soon....

I did as soon as I saw this thread. I’m sure others reported it as well as the addresses are no longer on the reviews.

One of the addresses was a popular PV place.

I was going to text them to give them a heads up as well, but the address has been removed.

Having said that, they are now off limits to me for a while just in case the location is now under observation…

But maybe a good practice in such cases would be whoever is reporting various types of issues could just add a note in their post indicating they did.

I'm not sure if the intent of the OP was to try getting the word out to the admins to remove the information before it became too widely known (and so potentially causing a big problem for some) or as some type of PSA to make sure everyone knows that such info is not to be included and doing so is pretty boneheaded.

I agree, this should have been caught. I remembers years ago I wrote a review where I simply mentioned a city where the provider lived and the Admins rejected the review as TMI -- remove that info and resubmit.

Sorry fellas, I should have been more clear. I did submit problem reports on both reviews.

And 36363jensen, you’re absolutely right: this thread was created to get an admins/mod’s attention. I’ve sent problem reports before that have taken DAYS to resolve. In this case, the situation was rectified within a few hours of my thread being approved. I started the thread in haste late last night, thus my curt post.

I may have been a little harsh calling the board member “stupid”, but the locations in both his reviews had the street name and number; while it didn’t have the apartment/unit numbers, anyone without good intentions that saw the reviews could scope out the location(s) and surmise which unit it is by the foot traffic.

Since the situation is resolved. How about requesting this thread be deleted?

The purpose was served of calling attention to an issue with a review(s)... and this thread isn't the jumping point of anything relevant to the community.

I don't get it and I don't like it. See the link. It makes me nervous going to those addresses because of the heightened scrutiny by LE and miscreants it could attract. I just don't get it.

I think the thread will also serve as a reminder to everyone that while it seems like you are in a safe zone here on TER the reality is you cannot let your guard down. The same general principle behind the STFU rule when talking with authorities still holds here.

Reviews should have the relevant information about the experience, not really the operational aspects or the location. Location and process will be explained by the provider -- though many of the processes (two call....) are so common mentioning them isn't giving anything away. But it's also not really adding anything to the needed information in a review so . . . and I say that knowing I put that type of comment in my reviews before as well.

RM website has that same address the reviewer used and it has been listed for a long time...As in over a year.

I forgot that when I did some research before using said establishment I ran across the same address, lol.
Maybe we over reacted because of the TER bubble...but I do agree with that address being removed from the review.

...and you're correct. What about a solution? Closing the barn door after half the horses are gone (catching the review after it's already been up for a while) is better than nothing, but the damage could be avoided by better review screening.

I want to see TERs review screening process improved. It's seems pretty obvious to me that the problem is lack of TER resources. We could help, but I can't be the only one who cares if we're to get meaningful changes at TER. Please see my attached thread on proposed solutions, primarily enlisting trusted TER members to do a pre-screen of reviews.

I have a review up where the ad's URL is the problem (see Lili in Falls Church): the address, sans room number, is imbedded in it. If the ad site allows this, there's not much we can do. So even screening reviews to keep addresses out can't stop the problem of having popular hotels, et., exposed and making us nervous about going there, even if to see a different girl.

While I have to think the admin overreacted to something in your review, giving it back to you with an explanation and the offer to let you edit it was eminently the right action.

It makes me wonder why my discussion board thread, https://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion-boards/ter-general-board-12/ter-knows-better-than-we-who-it-is-we-are-reviewingnot-987409?page=1, has disappeared. More to follow, but does anybody else know why this would happen without notification, much less an explanation?

Maybe over reaction but for me it was really just a good reminder that it's best to leave the irrelevant information out of a review -- kind of a view that even a few bread crumbs can lead somewhere so be careful.

TER's boards and TER's rules so if you're really curious you'll need to ask (sometimes they do it on their own and other times someone reports a tread and it gets removed). I didn't really see a reason it should be removed but I suspect TER is unlikely to put themselves in a position of having the explain their decisions in settings where people can perhaps take things personally. (Not saying you would to be clear.)

Quick follow up -- it was not really removed but moved to the Suggestions and Policy board.

Yeah, they finally responded to my PM and schooled me on the use of "My Board Posts." LOL. I still believe they should notify a user when there exercising their unquestioned authority to overrule a user. Looking at Mya thread in this section with +19K reads, and suggestions and policy are a side topic, they move things there to die.

When it comes to reviews, as a first resort, I think they should always return it to the user with an explanation and give him/her a crack at fixing it. That's the best way to teach somebody. In one occasion, I had a review sit in the queue without a peep from admin. Slowly but surely, after three attempts, I made an edit that got it past them. In another case, I was stumped. They finally told me how to fix it (if $ was exchanged, it's not a "ripoff"). In both cases, it was preferable to them just doing something without an explanation.

It took admins at least day to fix it. And I think multiple people reported it.

Just another proof that reviews aren't thoroughly read. That is such a red flag and can even be perhaps be automatically filtered if needed with enough work.
