Review problems extend past the hobby .....don't believe me?....go see for yourself. Where there are people involved there will be opinions that differ, lies and pockets of honesty. It takes much more energy of late to sort through then I care to involve myself in.
For instance, I put some time ot too long ago in using the net to read reviews on products before I buy them. Ditto with hair salons and eateries. What I have found is useless info because 50 percent will have totally different experience then what I am about to have even if they are totally honest.....which I will mirror? Then, you need to weed through the reviews and decide which is planted by the "reviewee", yes places of biz will definitely plant reviews.
Impossible.
Sad.
A waste.
Stop complaining. There really is no point.

There  is no magic cure for this either....because even when I ask my friends,  their idea of fabulous is so much different from mine.
I have had hobbyists ask about who they should see...I will rattle off two names with thoughts that they will like one more then the other, and when they get back to me...the opposite was true. There is no accounting for taste at all. Its very personal.
If you find someone who perhaps shares your view of "great" in certain areas, cherish that person here on TER. Contact them and ask if they have seen anyone they might suggest, then go on to read up on them.
I recently connected two hobbyists in NYC who I know share visions of what is a 10, and each of them have perhaps been frustrated by the whole review process. Now that they have found eachother they can compare notes and go on to have a buddy to confide in and share intell with.
Again, this like the review process is not perfect, but it helps.
Complaining is a waste of time folks....get over it and move on.

Hence, the old adage. "Experience is the best teacher, and it is seldom somebody else's experience".

Adjectives are very subjective that's why one should ask specific questions whenever possible.  Just like I've favorite providers, I also have some favorite hobbyists, who believe in the same values of safety, quality over quantity as I do.

Good thoughts..Cara.

I am still relatively new to the hobby and have been looking for that perfect provider.  When I found this site I was ecstatic, as I had thought I had found the answer to my prayers.  No more "stabbing in the dark" so to speak.  Well, it hasn't quite worked out like that.  I have discovered that what you say is true Ms. James, everybody is different.  I have seen providers that were highly reviewed only to be disappointed.  Now that being said, this truly is a wonderful site.  It gives you what others have found to be true to them.  So you have to do the research.  Take what has been posted with a grain of salt.  But most of all, let's just have fun.  I come here to enjoy a sexually free community, where some may feel the same way as I do or not.  But to each his own (have I used enough cliches yet?).  Let's not focus on what others say, but just get a feeling of whether the experience will be what you want.

what I've done is created a short list of providers. About 10. Of course, I've been hobbying since 2004 now.  I always add new providers to the list, because provider tend to retire, move,  etc.  I'm the kind of person who can have more fun when I find the right provider with whom I connect.

You will find them eventually Tommy.  Just keep hobbying...

When reading a review I am actually checking for a few services that are important to me...such as kissing.  I realize that everybody will have a different over all experience with a lady.  Chemistry is always a factor.  I've seen ladies guys seem to be absolutely ga..ga  and left with a little different opinion. I have been totally smitten with babes others have a so..so encounter with. It is subjective.   I tend to review every lady I see.  I frequently include the YMMV clause...WE had a great time...WE really had a chemistry thing....but ther is always a YMMV factor. I do try to include the menu items so the reader can have a resonable expectation as to what a session might look like.    Reviews are important to me.  I look for consitency.  I usually check out the reviewers history....I do attempt to make informed decisions but absolutely understand there are no assurrances.

chemistry.
Don't ever discount it or minimize it. Its illusive and unexplainable in a review. It can come off like shilling or BS at times. When that same provider has a less then great session due to zero chemistry she gets a bad score from the next guy...that in and of itself is confusing from an onlookers point of view.
People have asked me if I have ever had a bad session....the only sessions I would consider not so good are ones that chemistry is at an alltime low. Its not anyone's fault, it just happens.
One thing I have never understood is the hobbyist who walks into a blatant B and S and stays. If you book with barbie and rosie odonell answers the door, why in gods name do you not only stay, but live to tell the tale and complain?
If I went to a store to buy a bedspread that was beautiful in an ad, and got there to find it was cheap looking and uncomfortable I would leave empty handed.
How many people would leave with the crappy blanket and then complain to their friends it wasn't as advertised?
How many of us would even listen to them once they open their mouths?

You make several good points.  I know that my opinion of beauty and great service differ from others.  The chemistry thing is very elusive.  I know that there have been several times when I didn't click with a provider but I never held that against her in a review (or at least I don't believe I have).

The TER is a great site to gather up initial intel but in the end you have to decide for yourself and go with you gut feeling.  I've disapponited a few times but I just chalk that up to experience.

going to see a provider with lots of glowing reviews and leaving wondering who it was they must have seen, and seeing a few ladies 3 or more times and thinking they are exceptional only to find someone posting a score of 7 for one of them.  So I take all reviews witha ton of salt; this is why I usually only go see new ladies when they have a good 'body of work' in reviews with the 'preponderance of evidence' very favorable.  It isn't foolproof, but my disappointments so far have been relatively few.  But there's no accounting for taste, and the chemistry thing is really mostly personal and can't easily be evaluated through another's words.

I agree. and I love finding new girls, but only when I don't need them for an immediate lay. The time to dig a well is not when you are thirsty.  For the same reason, I always keep adding one or two girls to the list every few months.

I find it funny that so many TER guys bitch and moan about reviews but then when they need to post a review they don't post. Instead they take upon themselves to come on the board and whine about the lady they saw and how they feel ripped off or disappointed or even worse they start PM'ing people about other ladies.

I don't want to get PM's from you. I want to see reviews. That's why that feature was made - to review your experience, good or bad, and let other people know about it.

I find many men in DC lurk. They all have different reasons but this is much more prevalent here then in NYC>
I see both sides.
You (we) are in a community here on TER that is a give and take atmosphere, so a boisterous contributor would respect boisterous contributions...but someone very leary of being found out for different reasons would be gun shy as would someone who was burnt already.
I think that's why TER has two memberships. One where the written contributor is rewarded, and one where the non-written contributor is forced to contribute, even if that contribution is monetary.
When you think about both are needed anyway.
We need undertakers and neurosurgeons as well as someone to wash our car in life right?
Everyone contributes in some way.

Cara makes a lot of sense.  Why do some like steak rare, others well done?  Some like white wine, others red.  Tastes vary.  Always do.  Best thing you can do is read the reviews, and get to know the reviewers.  You will find that your tastes might match up well to a reviewer(s) that you read...in that case pay more attention to what they say and you might find yourself generally in agreement with them.  Of course if a lady is scoring 9/10s consistently over and over again with few if any low scores, then the chances are pretty good that while she might not be your ATF, youre probably going to have a pretty good time with her.  That being said, have had the pleasure of CSJ on multiple occasions and always had an outstanding time.  Gorgeous and sexy and knows what she is doing in the sack!

I don't post on TER much (this may be my 2nd outside of reviews to maintain membership) as it doesn't really serve the area I live too well (Pittsburgh - no discussion board).  I primarily use this site for travel.  That being said, I don't particularly give much weight to the numbers assigned to sessions and the details offered in the reviews themselves.  I mainly just look to see that the basics (services offered and rate) are covered, as well as that there are multiple reviews (to limit the unlikelihood that the girl is not legit).  The rest of a review, IMO, is just one person's interpretation of an event which may or may not have occurred as it's described (if at all).  Of course that's not just on here, but on all boards for that matter.  I know this site pushes for the details for review approval, and that's fine as I'm sure it pushes the paying membership higher (which sustains the site).  However, to me the details serves little to no purpose.

1) Are they real?

2) Are they legit?

3) Do they kiss/ daty/ etc...?

- If their pictures are real I'll use my own judgement for looks.

-I'll read through a few reviews to gain an idea of their service level/performance.

- I'll occasionally look at the reviewer's history in cases of few reviews or out of character scores.

I tried figuring out how to balance my rating ideals in light of the rate inflation/ strict scoring on these boards, but it doesn't work.
If you disagree with my score on looks, check out the picture yourself. As for performance YMMV.

For the most part, I have great difficulty getting my reviews to pass. So much so that I usually won't bother unless I find it helpful to the lady and/or the community.

Ive been in a few situations where I should have walked out due to misrepresation.
Let me explain what happens, youve made the appointment and driven 1 hour and your
little head is screaming for satisfaction. Now you say to yourself , well maybe she not
that bad looking and perhaps shes got 'talent'. Besides what the heck am I gonna do
for the next hour. About half the time it works out ok and other times you say damn,
I just pissed away$$$. Cara, its very hard for some guys to say no and think logically
under these circumstances. In the end youve got to write the review as honestly and
objectively as possible and move on. Its different than going in a store and buying a
pair or shoes or a suit. But the more I hobby the better I get at reading review and
figuring out the difference between BS and the real deal.

valid point.
One thing I either read on this board somewhere or perhaps ny....
...never go fishing for something new when your too hungry. Save the hungry days for a sure thing.
Maybe you can try the dates you are taking a chance with on days you know you can walk away if necessary. A large percentage of men here seem to have a system where they get very few surprises and they credit TER for it...so there must be some reasonable way to do this rather successfully.

Whether on ter or for buying shampoo. I get a sense intuitively, and you can sense immediately who the complainers are who will never be satisfied.

Re ter, when a lady worries about an unfair review, I always think: Don't worry. If it is unfair, it will be discounted.

A friend told me his grad school scholarship came on the basis of a "9" as opposed to all the other "10s." His advisor said that every serious scholar has to have some less-than-10 reviews; otherwise, no one takes the reviews seriously.

Dark lord...for me I have had chemistry do some interesting things in this hobby, its taught me things I would have never learned outside it. Some men I would not have looked twice at in the street have rocked my world and other times it was a huge letdown when someone so very attractive, did nothing for me.
I think chemistry is the deciding factor.
Feelings are of course different....feelings develop -- chemistry just is.
I would agree that men are much more visual then women....looks do play a role more so but....
You had a great session recently...and while she was beautiful I dont think you would have come away feeling quite the same if the chemistry factor was zero. You would have said something like...."yes she was gorgeous but something was missing"... If you line your top 5 experiences in this hobby I think they all were probably very attractive....and if you got a group of hobbyists together they would have a problem picking the best out of a lineup. But you, having experienced them first hand would not....you would know who you had the most sparks with....the most chemistry.

give him a chance. Hes been around for a while and your taste is really similar. Come Monday some info you might have been waiting for will come to light. Besides, much like you--hes hot. Between your similar taste in nice clothes, your jobs, you're mutually attractive presences at parties and your very similar taste in women, its a match made in heaven.
Not only that, but I get to think about attending parties with you both on my downtime :)
