Have a back up plan.

So I have to vent on a provider.  I won't name who but looking for some guidance if a second chance should be given.

I hear from providers that when a no show or a last minute cancellation from a hobbyist gets them angry. That is wastes their time and other opportunities.  Well what is a person to do when its the other way around.

There is a provider that I have been wanting to see because of her reviews.  Upon my first contact she was out of town and that she will let me know when she gets back.  Well late this evening I get a email saying that she is back and can see me this evening.  Great, we settled on a time for the appointment.  It's about a 3 hour drive for to get to her location and I jumped in the car and made the journey. She told me she will give me the address as I got closer.  30 minutes before the scheduled appointment and 2.5 hours into my drive I sent an email just remind her to send the address.

I got reply that she just wanted to rest tonight and that I can other appointment later this week.

Responses please......

don't know her but it seems that she has no business mind.. actions like this means one of two things

1. She is not hungry for new business - good for her I guess but this sort of action makes her beg for business sooner rather than later

2. she has drug problems, many in this business do. If your appointments are end of the day or in the afternoon, many who use drugs are looking for their fix as they have made enough money by then..

best times are 11am to 3pm ..

move on to someone else..

There is no way that I would travel that far and not have a back up plan. If you are one of those guys who likes to get registered with providers via screening. Send them some advance info. Many will not be available for last minute appointments though

your travel time when confirming. An hour drive? No. 3 hrs? Yes. That is not a normal driving time for an appt.

if she then cancels on you, you know not to waste your time with her.

btw, a similar thing happened to me. it was a 90 min drive for a 10 am appt. she cancels 30 min before (after I had arrived).I wasn't sure if she was blowing me off or not??? So, we reschedule for a few days later. I get to the appointment and instantly know it won't be good. It was the WORST hobby experience I've had.
