For those who have had evaluations altered by TER, as I recently did, there is some good news.  Suggest that you do not give up.  I recently won an appeal regarding an evaluation with some guidance and an helping hand from DocGonzo. Here is the story, beginning with Doc’s advice—which I followed--and his advocacy. The happy ending can be seen in the response below from “Senior Admin on TER… FFP aka Admin.”  Appeals can be won; don’t give up.

To resolve your issue, you must follow procedure: Use Contact Us to communicate your issues with Admin, and check your Account Manager / My Feedback for your response within 24-72 hours. What I will also do is forward a copy of your PM to Admin directly, so they can flag your contact when it comes in. This is the process if you wish to challenge the actions of the review screeners. (Doc’s advice and advocacy).

Hi Amator!

This is a Senior Admin on TER.

I have looked over your review and I agree the review performance should not have been altered by the staff. We are speaking to the staff member that approved the review and also the staff member that responded to you via contact us.

I apologize for their mistakes! In the future if you do not get the response in contact us that you feel you should get please go ahead and PM me or ask to speak to the senior staff.

Your review is going to be updated shortly altering the 9 to the 10 in performance. We are speaking to both staff members now regarding the incident so the review will not be updated right away but definitely within the next few hours.

Regards,
FFP aka Admin

On a number of occasions I've had my reviews unilaterally altered by TER, usually to lower performance scores, but sometimes actually editing the contents of the details section.  In every case, having brought my concern to the attention of TER, the issue has been reconciled and in most every case, the original performance scores were restored.  When they weren't, it was a matter of TER policy and interpretation and never more than a 1 point disparity.  I have to say I've had a pretty good experience with TER on this point.

The thing I wish operated a bit differently is the process by which submitted reviews are altered by TER.  This is (possibly) more work for TER, but from my perspective, it would be so much better to get a PM from TER saying they reviewed the review and are altering such-and-such because of a particular reason, giving you a suspense date to respond or accept the change as proposed.  That way, you and the TER reviewer could discuss and negotiate the proposed change prior to the posting, eliminating the need to go back and do that retroactively.  From my experience, there have been a number of cases where the TER reviewer simply missed a statement or two in the review details that led to the performance score.

I sometimes wonder about the review approvers. In my last one, I said that Sabrina could be a double for Shakira. I thought it was the highest compliment I could give her, but they took it out. Can't imagine the harm such a comment might have done. Did they think Shakira was a provider? (lol)

Nice to know that there is a process for this.  I have not had to go through a review being altered. But if it happens, I can now take some action.

performance scores lowered & could not figure out why. I was not aware there even is an appeal process, now I know.
