I would not create a Facebook account under any circumstances. Facebook is all about sharing your whole life with the rest of the world. And it sounds like you have some things you would like to keep under your hat. The only sure safe way to be discrete is to stay off the internet. That is the rule at the NSA for secure computers. That is not possible in this day and age for the average person but staying off Facebook and other social media helps a lot. Also, if you are depending on TOR browsers and such, be aware that half of the TOR nodes are owned by the government(s). They may not be able to intercept all your IP packets but if they want you bad enough, they will get you. It all comes down to how much they want you vs how much they want to spend getting you. But your problem is you want to share some of your life with the world but not all of it on social media and that is not possible. BTW, Facebook accounts never ever really get deleted. FYI
Do you know how Facebook sometimes suggest "People You May Know"? Most of the time the people displayed are friends of friends, etc. Well, today, for some strange reason, one of the individuals who their algorithm served up was a provider I have seen a few times - - while traveling on the west coast. I didn't recognize her name as it used her "real" name. BUT, I certainly recognized her picture.
Now, I've been hobbying for quite a long while and I am extremely careful about cloaking my hobby activities. I use anonymous browsers and I clear my browser cache and cookies every day. I have absolutely no idea how this "match" happened and now wonder if this is happening with my info showing up on someone else's Facebook scroll.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
BTW - - I am nothing if not discreet so please rest assured I immediately deleted the suggested contact in hopes that this wont happen again.
I think if you are on a device using various emails and media sites that it will recognize you in that way. My Facebook account is not connected to my Sidney Starr email accounts in any way but, I think maybe the phone is the connection? The device? Laptop, iPad phone. Technology remembers and keeps track of what we are doing. Facebook is keeping track. If you shop for pink neon tutus , the next time you are on Facebook, ads for pink neon tutus will appear. It's crazy. Google something and then Facebook knows.
I am definitely not technology literate. I know a few things but a lot of it is over my head. Maybe just keep clearing cookies? And history in your browser? Many times I see pics of clients on Facebook. Other providers as well. I just block and delete.

I am on it, but NOT as Sidney Starr. I don't put my provider life on any of the social media sites. I don't thinks it's very smart.
You most likely have have the providers number in your phone contacts. You have allowed Facebook to access your contacts, and/or have your mobile phone attached to your Facebook. They then match up all the numbers in your contact list with other profiles....other providers who have their hobby phones attached to their personal Facebook accounts.
I saw about 10 providers real identities this way. Surprised many of them were married. Wonder if their husbands knew. Think of the lives that could be ruined. Fucking Facebook. In any case, I let the providers know and we promptly delinked our phone numbers. What you need to do is make sure that you have your privacy setting in Facebook set so that it can't read your contacts.
In short, Facebook is SHADY AS FUCK. Wouldn't be surprised if it captured all your recorded videos and photos as well. They have direct access to them if you've ever uploaded a photo via the app.
Facebook and Google are probably the two most intrusive private organizations relative to their data collection. Inviting them into your cyber world exposes all your bits and bytes to their algorithms and their ability to store data for commercial purposes. You either don't use their services or you expose your data, there isn't much in between.
LinkedIn will ask you to access your email contacts. I once received a LinkedIn request from a retired domme I had seen years earlier. I didn't recognize her real name, but I recognized the photo.
Many ladies have Twitter feeds that are fun to read, but don't ever "follow" a lady with your own vanilla Twitter account -- unless you want your own Twitter followers to know that you like escorts.
Anything and everything we do today is linked, tracked or otherwise so it's always best to have a separate "Hobby" Identity which uses all separate accounts on dedicated computers, tablets and cell phones just for hobby use.
Play safe or possibly reap the consequences. Make sure to tell the provider that may want some info for screening purposes NOT to use her " Hobby account" when contacting you on your everyday business account. Common sense goes a long way.
Just my 99 cents!
I had a near miss recently where several folks showed up on as suggested friends on FB and linked in... also had a few providers try to link up on linked in and I wasn't having it... Have deleted all my Social media accounts and put my linked in to private...
Like you, I keep my hobby life completely separate from the everyday so that was a bit sobering!
Pretty freaky really...

When someone looks you up by searching your name, facebook assumes they are a friend so the next time you log in that person shows up in your "People You May Know" area. What might have happened here is the provider somehow knew your name and searched for it on facebook. You can prove this if you want by creating a fake facebook account and searching for your real facebook name.
This is really messed up but that's how it works. If you are stalking someone make sure you use a fake account otherwise your name will show up as a suggested friend.
Is it possible the provider looked at your Facebook profile as part of the screening process? That might trigger a "you might know" link.
