I had not really noticed the pricing issue, too busy running my own operation, so I stared to do my research.
Damn it woman! You beat me to the punch with similar facts and figures I would have used. *sigh*........... I think I'm about to fall in love with your mind. Oh and if you see my mind please loan it your GPS so it can find it's way home, it is missed. [LAUGH] Lee Dreams

I've been out of the hobby for a year, and am thinking of dipping my feet back in again. I remember the usual rate was 3 bills, but now it looks like you'll be hard-pressed to find a nice girl for anything less than 4 bills. Is this true, or am I just not looking in the right places.
PS: I have nothing against this as I understand rates have to match up with inflation, but was just surprised to see such huge hikes in a relatively short time.
A lot depends on location, the individual and what specifically you are looking for. I'm sure on BP you can find most any price. I personally keep my rates in the range you were used to, but then I don't live here, I am only visiting. It is just too difficult for me to keep track of different rates for different locations. My time is worth the same whether it is here or in Florida....but that's just me. Ladies here probably have higher monthly expenses, rent, food, etc.

As well, DC is one of the most expensive real estate markets when considering average potential earning income (for all work areas). So ladies who live here full time, have seen increases in rent, Metro fares, food, gas over the past few years. So most ladies will charge $300 minimum, with higher end ladies in the $400 - 500 range. Visiting ladies who might not have the same expenses at home as us DC ladies do, still charge this $400 rate because they see the rest of us doing it.
And since gentleman are willing to pay their favorite ladies $400 plus without blinking an eye, the rate remains steady. I know several ladies who charge $500 for an hour and with a full calendar of bookings.

Sound logic backed by citations?
It's fascinating how every reach of our economy is so intricately linked.

I paid $300 for top quality talent back in 1998 and 1999. A provider deserves to make a good living. If you dont like these prices try the truck stop off 175 and I95. Or cruise the 7/11s along Rt 7 from I395 to Tysons Corner. You get what you pay for
These gents are right, I know that rates were at 300 at least since 2000 and they are saying even earlier, so that has been at least 13-15 years. I know hotels are often over $300 a night and then you add gas with the DC traffic, or airfare, and parking, and food, and supplies, and advertising and outfits and nails done, and hair and gosh list could go on. Plus try to be low key and not take many appts. Aren't most things in life say like a bottle of wine marked up that the cost is about half what the charge is. So a $12 bottle wine retails for $24 at restaurant, or hair products are marked up, so if expenses are at $250 or $300 for one appt. then $500 would be right. Hotels are very expensive and unless you get a multi hour date you are breaking even or even in the hole with just one appt. so working for free actually, or actually, the guy just at least covered the expenses and a gentleman if dating or having a mistress that should be what he would do, cover the cost. Trust me I saw this trend while doing my research and reading boards of rates, but I understand as most don't know how much the hotels and other costs are associated with things. Not that it is for them to care or worry, but it is what it is... Everything is higher these days with inflation. Not worth it for a lady to only see one gent in DC. Unless she was wanting to just have her hotel paid for and see the sights. I hope everyone finds what works for them. xoxo C
Rates do seem to be going up. You only need look at Blue Flame Models, where the rate started at 300, and now almost everyone is 350, and some are at 400.
It's supply and demand, not the high prices of living in Washington mentioned in the other replies. The high cost of living here has nothing to do with it.
You need to be a careful shopper as there are lower-priced options. The Korea agencies, ILuvHot, Club Pearls, Episode Erotic, and Sky Eden are all very good at $260 per hour (if you can get in). Touring Companions is $500 for two hours, and DCIntroductions has some very pretty women for $300.
A more interesting question is whether the higher price of $400 or $500 per hour provides a superior product. I have never noticed a significant difference except at the very high price range, $550+.
Is the higher price worth it? I doubt it. My limit is $300. I first look at the price and then consult TER for her reviews. At $350 I just say, "That's too high." I'm sorry, but I'm CHEAP.

S300 was worth it back in 1999 so I am guessing $500+ is worth it today. have you actually tried the girls at the higher prices or just read the reviews???
Not me, I have kept the original donation ![]()

I don't mind that at all. However, it is a bit of a turn-off for me if a provider raises her rate and doesn't grandfather her existing clients the previous rates. I would feel disrespected. Maybe that's just me.
