I dont think Ive ever actually seen a girl from Backpage but I would. Several advertise there and on reputable sites as well so if I could validate them in some way I would for sure.  

As to rates, I have never found rate and performance to be related. My best experiences have been at rates of 300 and below to 250 or so. I have not ever found any corelation with performance though I think that may be because I do try to use whatever info I can dig up before scheduing an appointment and just dont fly blind so to speak.

Your question about a well known reputable provider suddenly dropping her rates is one I can shed some light on. A friend of mine in Las Vegas dropped her rates from 400 to 200 for a short time last summer when business was slow to see what would happen. Well, she caught flack from her peers but here is what else. She met some really nice local guys who just arnt into paying 400+ and so look to Backpage and other local sites. She wouldnt have met these guys if she hadnt ran her special. To tell you the truth, Im leary about suggesting it here as Vegas is sort of a special situation.

However, I do know one very popular visiting provder who definitely lowers her rates to 220 or 200 if things get slow on her visit. She screens as well as she can and has had no problems so maybe Im being too cautious.

Often you see posts about guys asking about ladies on BP  - so no matter how bad some talk about it many frequent it. So I have a few questions about your hobbying habits.

How many guys out there (regardless of if you find ladies in other places), partake in quickie or specials less than $100 from ladies on BP?

Do you expect less out of ladies at these rates or the same level of service of ladies $250+.

Have you ever encountered a lady who prices herself at $200 or less and hour with quickie rates or very low specials who was better than most of the ladies you have seen at significantly higher rates considering performance, looks, atmosphere, etc?

If a well-known provider suddenly decided to lower her rates from @400/500 to $200 (or less) an hour, would you see her or be leery of such a dramatic change?

I have been fortunate enough to see providers at the lower rates (usually latina) that are well worth the price of admission.  Actually I prefer them for quick specials (half hour) since it allows me more visits and I can always extend if I am enjoying the service.

As far as a provider lowering her price, I am a self employed person and I have had to lower my prices to compete in this economy.  I don't lower my quality of work because it's my reputation and I want repeat work.  I also take care of my good customers and often do small things for them at no charge if I am there working anyway.  

Of course I would be a little leery if your prices were too low but I would try to check your reviews.  If they were good, I would come see you.

I do frequent BP, not that I go see BP providers frequently, I use the BP app on the iphone because its more convenient to look at. There is talent everywhere. However, most reputable and consistent talents are not found in BP, but on sites like TER ads. I have limit my visits to BP providers, unless they have exceptional reviews.

I do not partake in quickies or specials for less than $100. That is peanut money, and that is no way to provide. I would rather pay the entire fee, and have piece of mind, leisurely, and take my time. I do not like to feel rush. I certainly am not looking for a quickie, I am looking for an exceptional experience. Quickies are soulless encounters, there's no thrill or anticipation leading to the event.

I have met many ladies on BP that charge $200 a hour, that was almost equivalent to the ladies that charge $300 an hour. However, they do not come close to the service, skills, environment, and reputation as the ladies that charge more. Money does influence the providers expectations. A lady that charge more is less reluctant to accommodate their clients. They know that their reputation is on the line. So, they have more hospitality, the environment is more affluent, willing to exceed the expectations, and usually have better skills.

With providers that charge $200, and try to imitate the same kind of service, its usually lacks in some areas, so, no, their service is not better. If I made less money for the same type of work, I wouldn't work more. However, if I made more money than the same work, I am more enthusiastic about the job and will work harder to keep the job. Same analogy applies for providers IMO.

If a well know provider that has drastically decrease her rates, I would have to give her some time to get recent reviews. Reviews are the determining factor. Even though she may have great reviews, a drastic move like that does make me hesitate her intentions. This may reflect on her service, whether or not she may exclude GFE services. I would typically wait. However, if all of her reviews are exceptional, I will take the chance on her despite her lowering her rates.

Do never apologize for posing a question in these similar fashion. This is a hobby, this is what its meant for. Some may think the question is unnecessary, while others may benefit from it. Sometimes I myself pose ridiculous questions, and the majority of feedback's may be negative. However, I do get several PM's thanking me about my question because it benefited the recipient. If a well reviewed escort dropped her rates from the $3-400 range to by $1-200 and I was attracted to her, I would see her before she raised her rates again.  Also, if I found a provider I really liked, (I have a few favs no longer in the business) I would, (if she was willing) try to work out a lower rate and more sessions.  Like instead of seeing a provider once a month for her normal rate of $300.  I would promise to see her 3 times a month if she dropped her rate to $200.  More sessions for me, more income for her.      This would have to be a provider I really really liked seeing, as it would prevent me from seeing other new girls.

On rates in the 200 range:  A side effect of this is that, this lies in the range of some top tier FBSM providers and MP providers (with tip).  In that range, one will possibly find FBSM guys, in addition to the price sensitive.
A similar post from last year discussing promotion discounts, raised the question of the unpredictable financial benefit. The conclusion was muddy, but it seemed that price changes, are not likely to work.

With so many successful minds here, you should ask for some thinking outside of the box (unfortunately in an open forum, any good ideas will be copied):  
-Alternate work in different location;
- Improve regulars with new service, not easily replicated (??)
- work with a partner/ mentor someone (?- get different tastes)

Never been tempted to BP.  The ladies on TER keep me busy enough.  And with TER there is a little quality control....although a few times the reviews must have been for a different lady...but that is YMMV.

Not in it for a quickie.  Usually book for 90 minutes or more depending on the rate.  Probably wouldn't go over 450 for 90 minutes.  

Rates and reviews let you get a sense that you are headed in the direction you want to go.  It is still the first visit that is the key as to whether I return or not.  

I find that agency girls treat you like another piece of equipment on an assembly line.  Ok, that ones done, next.  So I pretty much stick with independents.  I do miss TGND.  That agency set the gold standard for agencies.

Once I find a lady who gives a good GFE I will stick with her as long as I am satisfied.  I have been seeing on lady for over 5 years now and another for over 2.  If they were to lower their rates I might give them the old rate unless I was hurting for money.  The quality of the experience is more important to me than the number of ladies I see.

It's someplace that I regularly browse, even though I almost never jump at the lowball ladies.  I'm always more wary about seeing ladies who advertise there without significant reviews here or somewhere else backing them up; I've had some less-than-perfect experiences with ladies who advertise here, but it's never been awful, unlike a few of my BP experiments.  I recognize that there is a premium for ladies who advertise here, and that the likelihood of a good experience is therefore higher, but sometimes I can talk myself into visiting someone whose pictures appeal to me in some special way... IF I am not putting a lot of my budget at risk.  I've seen a few of the standard-rate ladies before, and certainly enjoyed it, but I have trouble making myself jump at a date that's going to put me out $500.

Truthfully, my limiting factor for hobbying is available time.  If I had unlimited time, I would run up against the limits of my budget pretty fast, but that's not the case right now.  My opportunities don't always present themselves on a predictable basis, so sometimes I find myself with an afternoon to kill and nobody lined up.  In that case, while I will make a fast pass through the TER Regional Ads board, I'm going to be looking pretty hard at BP.

I expect rates to vary by market.  In the DC / Baltimore market, I'm expecting to pay $250 per hour and up for ladies who advertise here, although I have seen occasional specials.  For BP ladies, I'm very nervous about seeing anyone who is asking more than $250 without some sort of reviews to back it up, as that seems like a big financial risk.  She needs to have something to reassure me that I'm not going to get ripped off to command that rate, too; otherwise I'm expecting something less.  I have seen very new ladies who were just getting started, and sometimes that can be phenomenal.  It's very hit or miss, but sometimes it works out awesomely.  My expectations of $200 or lower depend on how I perceive the lady; if she's just getting started, or there is some other mitigating factor (like I have to drive to Delaware to see her), I still have fairly high expectations, as I have either put in significant effort or taken on significant risk of disappointment.  If she's established as a mid- to low-market provider, then I expect that the low rate will be justified either by mediocre to poor performance or some other negative factor (looks or atmosphere), and I am less likely to make the call in the first place.

If a well-known lady were to lower her prices... it would depend on how it was handled.  I saw a lady in Dallas who needed to raise a bunch of money in about six weeks to cover a major unexpected expense, and she ran deep specials and saw a lot of guys.  She got her money, but kept her rates down near the lowered rates afterward; I don't know if that had to do with poor economic conditions, or something else.  I'd wonder about why rates dropped dramatically, but if there were some plausible explanation besides "the phone stopped ringing, and I panicked", that would suffice.  For that matter, I've noticed that many of the higher-dollar ladies don't quote rates on BP; they make you call for rates.  I assume that if she won't put a rate on her ad that she's either not wanting to scare anyone off with sticker shock, or she's only interested in trying to close the sale while you're on the phone, or she might fiddle the rate depending on her situation at the moment.  

If a lady decided to lower her rate, I would think that either listing a medium rate in the ad would work, or just quoting a lower rate when someone calls would be sufficient.  I'd worry about a rate that was TOO low -- if a really low rate is quoted (say, $150 per hour), but she posts professional pictures of a very attractive lady, I suspect stolen pics, B&S, or a straight ripoff.

It totally makes sense theoretically to offer a gentleman a lower rate if he plans to see me more often at the lower rate. But life is not theoretical.

#1. In my experience often guys ask for this type of arrangement way to early in our relationship to which a foundation of trust has yet to be established.

#2. Life is unpredictable. He may say he is coming 3 times a month, but since us meeting depends on my schedule, his schedule and our plans going perfectly with no obstacles/SNAFUS, it is risky on the lady's part. No matter his intentions she may end up just short changing herself.

My policy for regulars is simple and I think fair - they are offered specials and perks others don't even know about. That way they get special treatment, and I get what I feel I should.

Is it service based or product based?

I ask because escorting is service based, and a lady's rate could be based on a lot of different factors. Touring ladies feel this especially. Hotels and food in NYC/LA cost more in Ohio. I have tried to set a rate I could keep steady in every market. Now there are some places I will only have 3 - 5 people interested because it is a bit over the norm, but those are cities I either do not travel to or stay only a day.

Products have a flat price and you determine your price based on the profit margin you seek.

Your absolutely right about number 1 and 2.  For this type of arrangement to occur, it would have to be with someone you have seen many times and you both have some mutual trust in each other.

I hobby on BP once in a while, but I never partake of quickies because I generally take a long time to come.  I've had a couple 60 minute sessions for $150-200.

I generally do not expect full-GFE, but there has been one exception who was almost GFE.  Sessions have been average to pretty good.

In general, the performance at that price point did not compare with my usual $250-300 girls, except for one who was darn close.

I don't partake in quickie rates. I normally get a 2 hour appointment. The BP providers I see charge $300-$400 for 2 hours.

One time I booked a 1 hour appointment with a provider and she text me back telling that it was $100 special until the first pop versus $150/hour in her ad. I went to the appointment, it was good, had fun and was  given baby wipes to clean up.

If a lady drops her price I  don't look down on her. I am more likely to book. There are a few that dropped their rates in 2011 and I booked many 2 hour appointments with them. The service was excellent. That had nice incalls and nice attitudes.

Because of the rate drops I was able to hobby more than I did in previous years. Last year was the first year I was able to hobby every month of the year with multiple appointments due to the excellent pricing and service I received from BP providers.

Do what feels best for you and be flexible.

My average spent per month was $1052 in 2011. Average per hour was $197. That got me 27 visits, 48 hours of fun, and 47 pops.  The prices I paid went from $150/her to $240/hour.

As you know from my previous posts I do my research to weed out the frauds. I like that fact that I can book an appointment with a BP provider with an hour notice. I did get a few nocall/noshows because BP providers have a tendency to double book. Some will not double book if you tell them if you are TER reviewer.

Yes scheduling to see the same lady all the time is some thing that is hard to do. Either her schedule or the clients schedule gets in the way. Variety is the the spice of life. Also it is good to see someone that you have not seen for a few months or years.
