So I saw something on the ad board about edging and was really intrigued...and I have a couple of questions.

1. So it sounds like edging and "tease/denial" are the same thing?? Or are they different? For example, is one more bdsm-like than the other? Or is there no real difference?

2. Are there local ladies who are able to help introduce someone into this? Or is it something that most providers would be familiar with? Does it help to get specialized tutoring?

Not necessarily the same thing.  

1) Personally I think "edging" doesn't necessarily have to include BDSM, but it could. I enjoy getting very close to exploding, then easing off, over and over until I have a mind blowing orgasm.  I don't usually involve any kink in it or have any "tease/denial"  administered by the other person, but I could see people being into that.

2) I don't know any providers who specialize in this, but I'd bet they're out there.
