This has come up before, but what is with the excessive screening?
Are fellow hobbyists actually providing full name and copy of ID to get a date, sometimes in addition to references and handle info?
A photo ID, email chain, and full name are plenty of information to be blackmailed, life ruined, or who knows what— either by a provider or scam or if their email or website is hacked.
I don‘t see how ladies can ask for all this info and men provide it.
They can ask for whatever they want, but you don't have to give it to them, and you shouldn't. My recommendation is to move on if the screening is intrusive.

I don't have any references so I have sent a photo of my id when they ask. I'm single and don't give a fuck if the world knows what I'm doing so no fear of blackmail. I make sure the providers I'm contacting are well reviewed, but that's because I don't want to get arrested or ripped off.
I gave up info when I started out also... I have a P411, and try to just use that for verification now. Im about the same....not married, no high security job, so I also don't really give a shit....short of LE hassles
If you feel it is excessive then move on to a lady that does not ask for ID etc. A handle and references are good enough for some ladies and others want personal info. A provider who has been around with a reputable long online standing is not going to risk her reputation and business to blackmail a client. There are many gents who do not mind providing real screening info.

knows that is probably the smallest thing that one should take away from the history told.
It also holds a story about why asking for such information might be something of interest by providers.
But, I'm not suggesting anyone provide, or not provide, such information to get screened and see the person they want. We're all adults and can make up our own minds regarding what the risks in any situation might be and if exposure to the risk is worth the benefit we expect.
True... but if I was providing advice to a new hobbiest, I’d tell him there is plenty of fun to be had without needing to provide that info to ladies or agencies. This isn’t a risk they NEED to take to have P4P fun. Once they have that information, then they can play how ever they choose.
they have that choice is a good practice. It is a choice they will need to make but they should also be made aware of the fact that some providers will not see some new person without that level of screening. The reaction should not be to whine or berate the provider but to simply move on. That is the choice: what will you give to screen and is that enough to see the provider? If not move on.
However, the linked story does not make any case that one is at risk by doing so. The story does show the risk is being a high volume monger who writes a lot of reviews -- and doubly so for anyone who comes across as helping newbies and promoting the girls -- and who are then so fucking stupid they will talk about that in public and to people they really don't know. The story has ZERO mention that any of the average mongers who might have had their information swept up in the bust (and it is not clear how much of that there really was) were charged with anything. Some got scared and talked with lawyers.
So that seems to say the risk is with the less reputable scammer who might try blackmail and extortion -- and we've heard a few stories there. But in most cases they seem to be the same situations where most here ask "Why the fuck did you even LOOK there when so many more reputable and verified options exist?"
