I hobby both in Tyson's and DC (DuPont Circle).
To answer the question, I find Tyson's the most convenient. 1) In general free and easy parking 2) Bigger lobby versus small boutique hotels with security, doormen, or snoopy front desk staff and less likely to get stuck in traffic (Use the paid hot lanes to get back to where I need and avoid traffic). 3) Cheaper and easier travel to-and-from. I don't have to pay for a taxi or Uber to get there, and its super convenient if you're driving. DC is a major pain-in-the ass to drive into, Gawd forbid you're in the city after 3:00 p.m. because getting out will be a nightmare, my blood pressure goes sky high dealing with DC traffic and Type A personalities. Its amazing how places so close can be so different.
Majority of providers working in Northern Virginia do Tyson's. It seems more would be in Crystal City, but I don't think there is the really large client base (bumped up against Maryland/Potomac River and DC to the south, and lack of free and easy parking).
I will do DuPont/DC if I'm downtown for work. I'm already there, easy to UBER/Taxi it to the appointment, and in general I like the boutique hotels for ambience and something different than a chain hotel.
Bottom line is you'll find responses, positive and negative, based on convenience and travel time/ cost for the client. I don't have to wait for a metro, pay for the metro, or ride with other people on the metro to or from the meeting. I'm nice and relaxed after my session, the last thing I want to do is get to the metro, wait for a train - or worse just miss my train - and deal with it, and the people on it. For example, "Yes, you Miss, take your fucking bags off the seat next to you so I can sit down." My blood pressure is already up.
You'll make money either way if you're a quality provider.
I'd be interested to know if there are more no-shows or late appointments with one location over the other.
