being careful and knowing what is going on around you is critical in this lifestyle. So why do you go and post that no-one should say anything about LE on this board?

I agree with Yokozuma!  We all know that LE is around, fact of life in this business!  No secret there, but this board has become incessantly consumed with LE rumors and hearsay by people using aliases!

We all need to be careful, whether in MD, DC or VA!  The constant postings about safety, LE, etc make it a downer!  We are doing more harm then LE will ever do!  Makes me paranoid to go to work sometimes!!!

Please, be safe, use common sense, etc etc, but stop flooding the board with rumors and hearsay!  We all know the risks of the hobby, on both sides of the fence!

FWIW, we may be seeing increased activity due to the recent trafficking arrests here, and they're just trying to grab low hanging fruit to appear useful.

His argument is that people are overreacting to the threat not that some reaction is not appropriate just that what we see now is too extreme.  He might be right and he might be wrong but you respond to the charge that people are overreacting by questioning his motives.  

You have a right to use an alias. Bit others have a right to wonder why you would do so.  Could it be that you have something to hide---like maybe you made the original posts---or maybe not.  Who knows


If you have a way of verifying the original posts  many would love to know how you did it. That would go a lonf way in establishing your credibility and the credibility of the original posts themselves.

We should have our eyes open but in the last few weeks we have heard a lot of things that arer reported but that posters refuse to confirm---and not because they are protecting sources.  We have to be alert to the possibility that there is something wrong there too.

I don't know what to believe.  maybe the posts are all correct and the person who made them is just a bit misguided in not providing a clearer path to verifying the info.   maybe all the backchannel emails and posts about ho it is suspicious that so and so posted in response to whosey whatsey are correct, or maybe we should be suspicious of all the charges.

But the surest way to make sure we are not vigilant is to quarrel amongst ourselves or to say that anyone who disagrees with you is not to be trusted.
