I know when I came to DC back in the day, that anytime after May, things slowed down until the fall. Is Tysons Corner the same way or is a visit in May/June okay? I've never done Tysons before but I've wanted to visit...

August is really the only time it slows down here, especially this year with the change in administrations.

and it wasn't a good trip and I've heard that Tyson's is good but the guys in DC won't come out, it's the NOVA guys that make Tyson's a good area to stay.

It is frustrating to try to position yourself to please the D.C. Crowd and the NoVa gents.  Generally nova gents who do not work in the city will do their best to avoid the city parking and traffic issues. Tyson's is recommended by many...I like Arlington and further west Reston.  Tyson's, D.C. And CC are all top choices.  Be ready to uber around a bit-most quality gents are willing to pay for the ride.  

For those of us in or near DC:  
DC is close but parking is expensive
Tysons is convienent about 20 minutes depending on time of day
Fairfax is just a little to far

as they didn't wen I tried to bake myself available to both the DC guys and the NOVA guys in Arlington/Crystal City Feb 2015. Not a single DC guy came to se ad there and Crystal City is supposedly a good area for he DC guys as well.

but it didn't happen...It's so much more convenient when flying into DCA.
