LA Steakhouses and old school restaurants/bars

Hello from Boston,

I am heading to LA in a month or so for business depending on the health situation. I am staying by the LAX airport. Looking for ideas on steakhouses (non chain), old school restaurants and bars!

An "old school" steakhouse that is not a chain and fits your description is Taylor's Steakhouse in KTown.  Unfortunately it's not close to LAX.

Taylor's fits what you're looking for, except for location, as does Musso & Franks in Hollywood which has been operating since 1919. Also not close to LAX. A classic.

being that this was posted 4 mths ago right when CV started getting down and dirty!

Salt Creek Grill (El Segundo) but pretty much everything is closed and bars well they all closed right now!

Steakhouse

The Steakhouse at Marriott hotel at LAX was very good!  Plus, a sports bar just outside.   I stayed LAX 3 times in a year, last was end of Feb just before the Pandemic and places were closing......so not sure about social scenes now.  Conceierges are excellent helpers, and I go to Open Table as well.
