I am planning my first trip to DC soon and would love if anyone could provide me with some interesting places to sight see, eat, as well as any must do items?

Also, if you wouldn't mind, please let me know of the areas that are more preferred and requested, hotels, and any additional need to know info for a first time visitor. Please feel free to PM me this information.

DC is a great place to visit, recommend sight seeing is Arlington Cemetery, The Mall, and all the museums. This alone will keep you busy for days.
 Food, you name it, I like China town, and the Mongolian grill, Georgetown has excellent restaurants as well. Go to Dupont Cicle, many hotels, try the Carlyle or Topaz are great choices.
Getting around is easy, metro covers most of the city.
