If you're an art lover you've come to perfect city.. Instead of telling you to go to all the museums I'm going to say: the cultural center it's located across from the art institute, not only is it a beautiful place for art it's free also it has it's famous Tiffany stain glass ceiling that's  perfection to look at.. (See attached pic)

Lincoln park zoo. The conservatory (both in same area walking distance if each other)

The new & improved river walk that has wonder Restraunt's & wine bars along the walk

Check out the different neighborhoods too .. They each have it's own personality & uniqueness.  Lincoln park, old town, wicker park/Bucktown, Lakeview

The nightlife is never boring & the city is alive til wee hours

Street Fests - pending when your visiting  summertime in the city has a fest on every corner (there could be 4-5 fest on a weekend)

And house music!!! If you like to dance check out a house music dj & confess on a DANCEFLOOR somewhere.

Get the reader & redeye both free newspapers that lists all that's happening.  Timeout Chicago too

Enjoy your stay!!!
Any other question don't hesitate to ask!!!

I'm already planning on riding the Ferris wheel, and hitting a few of the museums; but I was curious what a local would say  some of the must see/visit places in town are?

Terrible tourist places to avoid?

Oh my goodness! Thank you for all the suggestions!

The cultural center looks amazing. That is for sure going on my list of places to see.  I'm really looking forward to seeing some amazing art and architecture. Eee!

Chicago seems like such a vibrate place

The architectural boat tour up the Chicago River is very interesting

You are the second person to suggest this to me, so it's going on the list.

It's an expensive 30 min view of an old and run-down home from the by-gone ages. Not worth the money or time that they hype it up to be. It's a tourist trap for sure.
