HIV is the most importance, since everything else other than Herpes pretty much has a cure. I'm guessing pretty much any real city has plenty of options for anonymous and free HIV testing. I know Chicago has several, including the city department of health. I recently had myself tested - negative, I'm happy to report - and encourage everyone to do so regularly.

It might be a good idea to offer a discounted rate for hobbiests who can provide a current (clean) STD test; eventually, you might be able to make it a requirement.

I think a lot of guys would love to try a "walk on the wild side" with a TS escort but never do, because of fear of STD's. Knowing that  the escort could provide a clean STD test and requred a clean STD test of all her clients would go a long way towards reducing the fear of disease that keeps many men from ever seeing a TS escort.

So since you just took a rapid test today, the results still don't tell you whatever you did the past 3 months HIV Antibody / rapid testing  cannot detect infection until 3-6 months after you are infected. HIV DNA is used for more recent detection, the antibody is used for backup so there is no false positive.

The only thing "free testing clinics" use is the HIV Antibody testing which take 3-6 months after being infected to detect. The DNA testing equipment is too expensive, too big and requires specialists to handle the blood samples and testing.

Free rapid and antibody testing is great for people that aren't very sexually active & are just checking things out. Or good for an insurance health test and such. They suck for anyone who regularly has different sex partners, such as sex workers and the men who see them.

This is why DNA testing is the only acceptable testing method for the Adult Porn Industry. This is why AIM tries to educate the Sex Worker Industry to follow the same standard. Anyone who has sex with multiple partners needs to use DNA testing.

If a girl using rapid testing (antibody) takes a test today, the rapid test doesnt pick up what she did for the past 3-6 months. With DNA testing, she is good up until the past few days., she has to go back 6 months and notify everyone 6 months back what has happened because thats how long the infection was in her before she found out.

You boys follow any method you choose...I have a lot of sex, im not taking any unnecessary risks with antibody only testing.

These tests all include HIV DNA early detection and HIV antibody for backup. HIV Antibody only detects 3-6 months prior to contact of infection. That is inadequate for porn stars and especially sex workers.

Jasmine, I don't doubt you, but how often are we expected to have that $199 DNA test you touted?  If you've got reason to believe you need it, then by all means do so. But for the average person who isn't in the adult industry, what is realistic to spend, assuming it isn't a one time thing but part of a regular testing regiment?  How many hobbyists are getting that once a month, lets say?  I'm guessing almost zero.  I'd rather see people get a free antibody test than no test at all.

I know you are famous for trying to do things "right" such as by screening your clients which few TS providers do. I respect you for it. Your blog is a great source of information too. But I also think we've got to be realistic that almost no one is realistically going to follow a protocol that requires regular testing that runs as much as the price of a session each time out. Maybe one could say that your life is worth it. Who would argue? But also who realistically is going to do it?
