The LA street scene is a pitiful semblance of what it was years ago...last year (pre-covid) I did several drive-bys in the known hot spots and it was slim pickings. I just don't have the patience to drive around and around to find the diamond in the rough...the reality is that the internet has done more to kill off streetwalkers than anything else.

I wonder if the girls know about the change in enforcement policy ... or maybe it hasn't been enforced for so many years the announcement was not news. They don't come out on the streets until 3am?!

Charter cities, which Los Angeles is along with 10 or so other cities, prosecute their own misdemeanor arrests. So any Hollywood and Downtown arrests would be prosecuted by the City of LA City Attorney and not the DA’s office.

That's too bad. something about the street scene that was amazing. I guess this it the way it will be. I wonder how other cities are?

As America's civil standards are progressively abandoned, the big city street scene may serve a niche market for punters who prefer seeing their hook-ups live, followed by the instant gratification of cardates ... and for the providers, the quick cash hit to take care of their meth needs.

I have posted in the past on this thread about the street scene LA once had....it was amazing. For both TS and GG, there were at least 10 active hot spots for pickups. Yes, LE was out and you had to be careful as they had an active vice squad back then. I think the sheer number of girls working made it harder for vice to patrol and enforce.....there were dozens of gals at a time on any given night, so sting/decoy operations were used more often. I recall in the 80's and 90's an area in downtown LA along 7th st. between San Pedro and Central where on the weekend you'd have 10-15 hot Latina ts gals ready to be picked up for car-dates....LE would make a showing, the gals would scatter for a bit, then re-congregate when LE would leave....almost impossible to stop.

I was working in Hollywood on a Tuesday.  I saw two girls at SM and Highland but they weren't appealing.  On my way back to South OC I swung by the Garden Grove Inn and Morada Inn (next to Frat House) to see if anyone was out.  I had a few small Christmas gifts.  But no one was out and about.  Its funny, I drive these girls to get a cell phone, get there number and after two days they no longer have the phones.  Once the inside of bars open up again I'm sure I'll see somebody I know at Frat House or lingering outside.  

Saturday had a few. Around 3am. But nothing great. I think they will come back.

East Hollywood in the mid 00s (2005-2010) and there were always a tons of girls out but it has been steadily drying up/dying as the years go on - I will usually go look once a year or so (my lifestyle is different now) and the last few times there have been 0-1 girls in the spots where there used to be 10-15 and some nights there is just 0 - it's too bad - I know a lot of girls shifted online but I don't know where to find them even - i met a lot of hot sexy latin girls over the years on the street - was always a thrill no matter what

East Hollywood was a goldmine during that time, even earlier like 2000 was very active. There was the Black Lite Bar on Western (now closed) that had many gals loitering around that bar waiting to be picked up. Then the street(s) behind the Tempo Bar on SM Blvd and Western had many as well. Further east closer to Vermont Ave had quite a few gals on the side streets along SM Blvd just waiting for a hookup. If you start heading west towards West Hollywood, it was an explosion of available TS gals near the old Peanuts Bar. East Hollywood had primarily latinas, West Hollywood had everything you'd want and more.

Its not the 90s or early 00's any longer, of course the street scene sucks. Add in a pandemic and viola, no ts for you.  

Risky behavior for sake of a thrill has been around since the dawn of man.  There's your explanation, no need to pretend you don't understand.

A click & a phone call is sure is easier, but since the good ol' days of instant cardates we've learned a few things --- that "pictures never lie" is false, the vulnerability to the 'sunk cost' error is greater (she's wasn't worth the trip now that I see and interact with her, but I don't want to waste the effort and the trip), the ability to walk away is more awkward since you must enter the room behind a close door before seeing the reality because she hides behind the door when you enter, and an invisible 3rd person may be hiding in another room.

It will never be the same but there are still thrills on the street.  Some of the girls are very nice looking if you favor crossdressers.  I went accross Garden Grove Blvd. the other day and there was nothing.  It is a far cry from when girls would just jump in your car on SM Blvd. or Western Ave.  

I can tell you that there were some distinct advantages to the street scene or even the bar scene (Queen Mary, etc). For starters...what you see is what you get. Also, only once did I encounter a ROB (a gg in Long Beach)...the power dynamic is different when someone enters your car as opposed to you entering an AMP or apartment. I've encountered a fair share of "bait and switch" and ROBs on the internet as we all have. Also, it was easier to develop a reasonably priced "regular" from the street scene as I often asked for their # for follow up meetings. And yes, there was a small part of the thrill or hunt that made it enjoyable until there were fewer and fewer acceptable gals/ts, or an active bar scene, then it just became a tedious exercise driving around and around.

So to me the streets are just exciting. And the cost factor is there too. Plus I like to choose and as mentioned the power dynamic of a car pickup is different t than an incall.

I 'member the great spots in Hollywood, so many good times.  Driving around and finally spotting 'the one' and getting her, is always going to be way more exciting to me than browsing online.

Wow...9 ladies on SM BL? 5:30AM is waaay too early for me, but glad to see there is still a scene in that track. The downtown hotspot had always been 7th near San Pedro to Central. I can see from your post that it's moved further south closer to the fashion district. That makes sense since the homeless/skid row area has taken over the old 7th st track and so much of downtown. That whole downtown area has become so creepy/sketchy in general.

Rolled out this past Saturday night around 2:30am. Stayed out until about 4:30am. Several girls out between about St Andrew and Normandie. There were three hanging out on the corner of Knightly and SM, two of whom were very cute, but they seemingly would pay attention to no one...they were out the entire time without even approaching a car. Several other really cute girls out as well. Pretty spectacular really. Maybe about 15 total girls out during that time, though never that many at one time.

Thanks for the continued reports...I'm tempted to make the rounds again if it was not so early in the AM. I know what you mean about ts gals that just hang out and pay zero attention to others. Ok folks.  I’m old.  You should have seen it in the 70’s.  There were actually girls, sitting on stools, in the front windows of “photo” studios.  They had no problem flashing you, as you went by.  Hollywood/Western, TS workers.  Sunset, from Orange to CrescentHts, some pretty good looking women.  The IHOP was their HQ.

Datum. Being young with money on your hip, seeing the stroll on Santa Monica at it's peak. Nobody rings the bell when it's as good as it gets.

I tried the traditional SM Boulevard route last Sunday in the late afternoon.  It was a beautiful day for a drive with low traffic.  I saw only one girl the entire time.  A pretty, super-thin African American.  She was near Astro Burger.  We made eye contact but I don't think she was working.   I know that is not the time to try but it was for nostalgia's sake.   The transformation of the area is  amazing.   I had a studio apt. near Hollywood Cemetary that was $270 per month and I could session with Dana Douglas for $40-$80.  It's pathetic, but I now talk about the old days more than my father and grandfather ever did.  Of course they weren't tranny chasers.

Although I haven't been by in a few years, there was quite a TS street scene in Huntington Park at Pacific Ave and Florence.  The track only ran a few blocks, but there was quite a few Latin girls out and about in that area.  Although there was a police presence most of the time, they seem to let the girls get on with their business without too much hassle.

Did a little cruze through east Hollywood in a warm Thursday night around 230am there where a few girls out on Santa Monica usual places stopped at a well known 7-11 east Hollywood had a few in parking lot I guess the heat might bring some out not like the good old days but wasn't bad a few lookers

Been a bit since Ive been out early. Today Monday morning 5am - 6am. Action was between Western and Edgemont and literally nothing anywhere else.  

Cruised by East Hollywood. Saw like 6 girls out. 2 of them were lookers and didn't mind. I have faith things will pick up again.

I did check out the Pico/Paloma area of downtown during the summer around 12AM...very spotty activity and not the best lookers IMHO. I did find a latina that I picked up, real nice gal. She told me that the LA street gangs will harass, rob, and intimidate the providers which is why they move around and are generally defensive.

While its been a few years, my experience is that most of the action takes place starting around midnight to 3AM.  I think the 6AM girls might be the tweakers.  Its been many years and I know things dried up some but there use to be a lot of stuff going on around El Centro and Lexington and that general area.  Be safe!

If everyone clears out by 5:30AM, I'm going to guess midnight or even 1:00AM that it starts populating with "workers". In the past I've always found the east side of the blvd to have many not so attractive latins with the rare hard to find hottie....maybe that's changed.

Yeah....I guess I'm thinking back to the days when the "Black Lite" bar on Western and the "Tempo" bar on SM Blvd had action starting at around 11:00 right around that area....I just checked and the "Black Lite" closed over 12 years ago...dang time does move on. Insofar as east vs west, I have heard that just about all of the action on the west side is now gone which is why I stopped driving that area a long time ago. Good to know it's primarily a Friday/Saturday happening.

The parking lot of the Yukon Mining restaurant and SM Blvd in the 80's-90's was pretty close to that youtube clip....just not as crazy and dangerous as Figueroa is now. I am familiar with that track of Figueroa and it's scary during the day, I can't imagine doing a late night cruise in the heart of "the hood".

Yeah I remember the Yukon back in the day and Peanuts, 7969.  After the bar closed, that parking lot would be full of girls and LE would cruise through, but I think they were outnumbered.  Don't forget about the Black Lite on Western and the side streets east of Western.  Tons of action also existed around Virginia and Wilton and over to Lexington, as well as Mariposa Ave by Normandie.  I did not live in LA until the early 2000's so it was bangin then too!

Yes, tweekers are around at all hours. The Pico/Union near MacArthur Park off Alvarado and Westlake/Olympic was tweeker central..same for downtown on 7th btw San Pedro and Central Ave. Almost none of them were TS, I always felt bad for them. Speaking of 7th St in downtown, this is were many fresh over the border TS gals would work and live....now its gentrified.

The Silver Platter is a few blocks west of the McArthur Park area. It survives although it was closed for several months due to a shooting inside the bar in 2020 before pandemic.  The area around the bar did had a street scene but as I mentioned earlier in the thread, area gangs intimidated the gals and pushed them away to other parts of LA.  

I sure would like to go to the Silver Platter but I'm afraid I don't have enough game anymore.  

Came close to going to Silver Platter once 9-10 years ago.  Couldn't find street parking within a quick walk from my car to the bar.  That neighborhood is scary.

Having been to the Silver Platter a couple of times, I can tell you that not much "game" is needed. Perhaps "dinero" as Dog stated along with knowing some Spanish. The first time I went, I picked up a young non-pro who became a regular of mine and eventually went pro with ads on Backpage. The second time several years later the place was just too scary....no wonder someone was shot inside the place. It might be better now as they claim to be "under new management".

Just came back fron pico/paloma. I saw 4 but they mainly looked like cds. Maybe on weekends there is more talent.

Was out early a couple days this week. About 10 girls Wednesday morning and 8 Friday morning. Wednesday was especially surprising as it was already late..around 530 am, and mid week is usually the slowest. I expect things to be pretty good around 3-5am tonight and Saturday night.
