First off, I want to say I didn't know her, but it was a tragedy. Death is a part of life, but it definatley came too early for her. However, my next question is about the HIV scare. There are TS escorts out there providing service with this horrible disease. I for one am asking for any help in finding out whom might have this disease. I play safely, but it would be very helpful and a good tool for me to have at my side. Any information would be greatly appreciated and should not be posted but sent to my email. I will help in the same way. Thanks.

I didn't know her either, and I want to say that if she was escorting with AIDS then that is something horrible.  We can't tell what was going on in her mind, but obviously, she wasn't in the best mental state if she killed herself.

But PLEASE, let's not just blame the girls.  I am sure there are a few "hobbyists" out there that are spreading a few things around too, whether it's STD's, herpes, AIDS, or whatever and not telling the girls beforehand.

If you are going to put a list together, let's be complete and honest and add the hobbyists too.

If everyone plays safe, then we will ALL be safer.

I agree with you TS Star. I believe you 100% when you say the hobbyist's might have an STD. However, when we are deciding which provider we would like to see and even though it is practiced safely, wouldn't you want to know if someone is infected with any STD. We as a hobbyist are giving a fair donation to a provider for a pleasant and also mind free of thinking session. There are many ways for disease to be transmitted and it is also are life we are putting at risk if we don't know. I do understand your concern and don't want to downplay your side. The bottom line is we all want to live healthy, happy lives and theses boards are to help each other. If I were to give you a gun and tell you it is not loaded, go ahead pull the trigger, wouldn't you still check. I for one would want to know. Name of the game play safe!

Yes!  I would!  That's why I said if you are making a list, put hobbyists names on the list too.

But just to clairify, a hobbyist should never stop thinking enough to not practice safe sex.  And just because someone pays a fair donation to someone else, that doesn't give them the right to spred illness's around.

If you are sick with anything, you *should never* be seeing another person without telling them in advance and let THEM decide if they want to see you.  And that goes for both hobbyists and providers.

Hairy Bear -

I'm one of the people who gives you a hard time.  As I've explained, a few bad apples have used false HIV accusations on the TER boards over the years to flame providers they just don't like.  So, we generally don't permit this type of material.  I've clearly let the Susan Shah thing go as (1) she's passed and I can't imagine someone trying to flame her to hurt her business and (2) its actually in the newspaper that she's HIV+.

I want to thank you Answer for being open minded and fair about the Susan Shah news and for allowing us to discuss it. I think its important for us to say how we feel without making hurtful, rude or inaccurate comments about providers or hobbyists.

I am not well traveled, however I saw a documentary about countries that have legalized being a provider. What I liked was that in some of the countries the provider had to show the hobbyist a card that was dated and showed the provider was disease free. I guess that is just wishful thinking in this country, but it would be nice.

What do police reports with real names have to do with HIV status?  I don't get it.  That said, if there is legit evidence, bring it on as it will help everyone!

In Amsterdam, all the red light district girls must undergo tests.  Not coincidentally, bareback action is rare there.

In Brasil, freelancers do whatever they want, but any girl who works in the brazilian version of a bordello (they call them termas or boites) must get tested monthly.  Often you'll see the girls one night all with little bank aids on their arms.

Thanks everyone for giving their advice. I really just want everyone out there to be safe and happy. I think it was a tragedy what happened and don't want to be reading about another one. No one should have to go through what that poor girl did. I wish that disease on nobody and we all need to take precautions whether we are a hobbyist or a provider. This board is a great place to awaken everyone's sense of reality. Good luck!

Half typo, half double entendre? It takes a big bank to cover (the cost of) aids -- but only a little band to aid the cover of the test's pinprick? A cosmic equivalent of 'you can pay a little now, or you can pay a lot later' (I think that first referred to using motor oil to avoid blowing your car's engine -- uh, no pun intended -- though perhaps the parallel suits?)
Enough.. too much.  Try as I might, can't smile at this development. But good to see people are -- at least momentarily -- lifting their heads from the sand. Peace.
