Re: Why do providers get de-listed?

This is directly from the TER FAQ

MY REVIEW WAS REJECTED BECUASE THE PROVIDER WAS DELISTED. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

The provider has asked to be taken down, banned, was caught posting false reviews, has retired, etc. In short, we won’t carry information about her anymore.

does not make sense. One can understand if the provider has retired. But should not the TER members be warned of providers posting false reviews or the one that are banned (obviously for some negative reason)?

I thought the reason for being a TER member was to get to know to great providers and also be WARNED of the bad ones.

Exactly. Without transparency this forum is useless. I wrote a similar question but I guess since I mentioned a banned providers name it wasn't posted.

I thought I’d post some links to some other messages here on TER that are relevant to this topic.  This first one is perhaps the most succinct description of why providers get delisted and what that means:

Delisted Providers - Posted by atl_mgr, 11/12/2006
http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=20050&boardID=33&page=

It has been my observation that old reviews of delisted providers are not deleted and may still be accessed from a specific member’s list of reviews.  Good luck finding them without some clue.  In any event there is no longer access to the other information in the profile such as phone#’s, email, physical description, etc., so you’ll also need good luck confirming who’s review it actually is that you may be reading.

The post above, as well as the one that started this thread, have links to TER’s Review Policies, but for your convenience I’ll repeat it here:

INFO & POLICIES: REVIEW FAQ
http://www.theeroticreview.com/info_policies/reviewFAQ.asp#P

Finally, you might be interested in this more detailed discussion of how TER goes about identifying fraudulent reviews and banning providers who attempt to submit fraudulent reviews on their own behalf:

Hope this helps.

Take care,

I for one would love to have a one-stop-shop for all provider information.  Yes I’d certainly like to know if TER has banned a particular provider for review fraud or multiple user account abuse.  Unfortunately the world just doesn’t work that way.  Just think a bout it a bit.  If there was such a list how would you tell if a provider had been delisted for privacy reasons versus review or user account fraud?  Obviously having their name on such a list would blow the privacy request, so you might suggest that TER only put providers on the list that have been delisted for review fraud.  Maybe this is not so obvious but that would be asking for all sorts of trouble.  It is highly doubtful that anyone who saw their name (or the name of an ATF) on such a list would accept such a negative designation graciously and might attempt to retaliate by any means possible, including illegitimate ones.  This would just create more trouble than its worth.  Yes this policy makes TER members have to read between the lines on highly visible providers without a profile or even a mention in the discussion boards.  It may also incentivize a search elsewhere on another board for information.  So be it.

Unfortunately for the reasons just discussed, there can’t be a list of delisted providers, as difficult as that makes all our jobs as members and moderators to respect such a policy.  We are only human, so we cannot be expected to know/remember everyone who has been delisted so the occasional post will still get through.  Which is another reason the discussion board search function is so useful, particularly in the TS forum where, as we have also previously discussed, there seem to be fewer reviews and profiles relative to the number of providers.

I would like to make this discussion a bit more specific to this particular board.  Some time back we had a rather lengthy and lively discussion about Lavinia over the course of several weeks and many different threads and posts.  References to this debate resurface from time to time and have become a part of the TS discussion board lore.  Lavinia participated in these discussion and was often quite vocal and pointed with her own opinions regarding the issues under discussion.  Some of the participants will probably agree with me that both sides of this debate probably said some things they shouldn’t have or might even wish they hadn’t.  However, to the best of my knowledge, at no time did Lavinia resort to any deceitful posting in the debate under multiple usernames or submit any false reviews to enhance her profile.  As a result, Lavinia remains a welcome participant in this forum and, whether or not I agree with her opinions, my respect for her and her opinions has only increased.

In contrast, in the course of a more recent and similar discussion we had a provider also become very actively engaged in this particular debate.  No one faulted her for her opinions (or ‘rants’ even) but to further her point of view she crossed the line with respect to the TER policies under discussion here.  I consider that too bad because I actually agreed with some of the things she said and would have continued to respect her opinions, even the ones where I disagreed with her.  Unfortunately, we no longer have the benefit of her participation.

I realize that without the transparency of disclosure that you seek, figuring all this out is not so easy.  Let me submit that you consider TER a place to come for positive affirmation of a provider’s reputation, good or bad.  If there is no information available here it certainly does not automatically mean anything negative about the provider in question but it is going to require you to dig deeper.  With so many other good choices out there where you can find information right here on TER, you might consider whether or not such an investigation is worth the effort and focus your attention on other alternatives.

Respectfully,

TS Tempted (TSBTQ in this case?)

policy of not seeing any provider without good TER reviews. Why risk it right?

I don't see this as much of an answer. The provider that's been delisted had consistantly good reviews including my own. If she did something so bad that she was delisted I'd like to know what it was.
I invested my time writing a review and would like to know why the provider was delisted. It certainly wasn't because of bad reviews and I've not read any discussion on this board about her.
Without any more information ER has lost some credibility with me.

... I requested it.

One time someone posted a very nice review for me, but, he described my apt. a lot, and afterwards many people called telling me they met me and they discribed the apt. exactally like it is, and I found out that it's not true, it makes me nervous and scared me, and confuse me in my business.

Also, I have many regular friends(customers) and they visit me eitherways my ad is on line or not, it makes me feel sure about myself.

I post my ad sometimes to meet new nice guys, I don't post so often to be discrete, I don't want to be famous on this business and I love my privacy.

TER did not decided to de-listed me, I request them to do it and I appreciate it the favor and I wish all the best luck to TER and to all the best to you guys who are  TER'S members.

Have a great weekend.

Well Said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although like most I find frustrating in not knowning if a providor has been delisted.

However, I truely believe that this post and the previous post by "TS Tempted" and the post "Speaking FOR TER", clearly outline was this policy is the way it is!!

If they allowed this kind of submission to be posted, then it defeats the purpose of this board. Of all the "Escort Review" site, I find this one to be the most acruate, hands down!!!

We may not agree with this Policy, but without this board would be like so many others.  Since becoming member of this site, way back when it started, I soon realized this fact, "It simply was the Best."

As a result, I set a rule that I live by, If I can't find a review(s) on a providor in TER, than I'll find another choice.  For the most part, this rule has worked, and the encounters, for the most part have been great, works well, keeping me from wasting time and effort on a providor that is really not worth seeing.

Come on, Let's face it!  What do we want, factual, reliable information that we can trust on a providor?  Or do you want to be frustrated with no information, blindly going to a providor and not knowning it the time and money invested are well spent.  I can only tell from my own experience, prior to finding this site, most of the encounters were a waste of my time.  It did find a few gems like TS Angel (Miami), TS Sasha(LA, out of business 94), TS Asia (LA), just to mention a few.  But these were rare exceptions to most of the encounters.

We may not agree with policy, but I truely believe that this policy is a must and keeps TER above the rest.

Guy, Here's a big reason.  Some of when we write reviews put way too much information in about her location!  What happened to being "Discreet".  You except of her, but some of seem to forget that we need to respect her privacy.

I do a general description, like 4 star hotel, or her apartment, or near downtown, etc., but never like off Main street and 23rd Street.

I think "I_Love_to_Love" has a real valid point and we really need to take it to heart, and "I_Love_to_Love", you sound very nice, and I'm sorry for your troubles caused by that review.

Hopefully, maybe some day our paths will cross.

Best Wishes to you always!
