This has never been an inexpensive "hobby". Having been in it long enough, I can recall some real low cost car dates with decent providers and some "regulars" I cultivated in LA. I can't imagine anything under $150 for even a car date today with most in-call $250 plus. The old saying "you get what you pay for" really does apply here...with that said, you have some providers that are just waaaay out of what I would call market rate...that for me is a red flag to stay away.

I just noticed that many 1 hr prices are now listed as 350 roses. Is there a TS cartel "dick"tating prices?

about a "cartel" or not but I've noticed the same upward trend. First it was the two-tiered system (VIP vs "regular" or "non VIP" I guess??) I mean of course I understand inflation and prices on everything go up. A girl has to cover her expenses and make a profit, it's only fair. And as Tia mentioned in her post further down...it's not legal (yet! hopefully soon!:) so there's that whole risk to consider as well.
  I always just guessed that "price-creep" if you will, is due to the fact that "tipping" a provider kind of
stopped a long time ago (at least for me anyway). Personally $300.00 an hour is no small chunk of change for this working stiff but I pay it because it's the going rate for a top notch provider and I'm cool with that..whadyagonnado? I'm just not financially able to be generous enough to drop another $50.00 or whatever for a tip. So unless all us hobbiests get together for some kind of "boycott" prices will just kinda seek they're own level as they should do in our free market system.  
 Just my thoughts... but then W.T.F. do I know!?  lol!

I agree. Prices are getting outrageous. I understand "making a living" but they’re trying to make a fortune off us with subpar service these days. I’m  close to giving up on the hobby. It’s become price prohibitive.

That is so true. I think fellows in USA are just so desperate they are willing to pay big $$ for crappy, uninspired "service".
This goes for genetic and trans girls.
If you like to travel, you will find FAR better for FAR less $ in other countries. At least speaking from my experience..

Pretty much how it works if they raise there price and business falls off it comes back down. Stop paying over 200-300 and just decline prices will drop . like any commodity they will only sell at a certain price and market

I've noticed prices inching up, mainly in two areas:  
1) The providers who feel they've become all that and have raised their rates from 250-300 to 350-400+. I've seen a few of them drop rates again after making the rounds for 1-2 years, but not getting the reviews and or repeat business to maintain it. I can't blame them for trying.  

2) The ones who think they're a model working outside of any sexual related service. Mainly the ones pursuing only fans, just for fans, many vids and other personal pay sites. The number of them have tripled - quadrupled from the start of Covid to the present time. I can't blame them either for trying and their rates are usually at a higher average 350-400-500.  

What sucks is how they're able to advertise in mutliple cities to gain more followers to their pay site. I've often wondered if enough of us reviewers/customers complain to the sites who allow them to advertise that way would it make a difference, who knows?  

I think more so now, than in a while, sharing info here is the best way to avoid the over priced ones. I have no problem paying a bit more for a top provider with a track record of top reviews, but not everyone is worth those higher rates.

TS providers would have different rates based on the ad you called her from.  As an example, most providers on E*ROS start at $300 for the hour.  That same provider would never accept a lower offer if you called from that ad, but if you saw her advertising on CL or in the local adult paper, the same provider would start her rate at $200 vs. the $300.  Quite often, they would even quote you $150 from the CL ad or from the adult classifieds.  While the rate was less, I can testify that the quality of the session for the lower price might be much shorter or have a few limitations.  As an example, I visited this super HOT TS girl in Hollywood and she would see me for the lower rate all the time.  One time, I was not paying attention and I called her from E*ROS and when I left I paid the usual and she was pissed.  I paid the additional not thinking that this was going to be an issue but did not want to piss her off.  Candi Coxx in WEHO would take just about any donation.  The times I was there, I was paying for the full hour or longer.  She would take quick visits all day long for $100 or less but you better finish in 10-15 minutes.  Every provider is different.  Often, the ad says "up to the hour" and what that means is if you pop in 5 minutes, that is it :)

Back in the day, Candi and a few others took checks and I think I even traded an old laptop for a session so never give up :)

I've seen different prices on other sites as you've mentioned. But, I need to try the barter system, I have an old laptop, iPad and other electronic gadgets. Awesome story, times have certainly changed lol.

There are a few in the LA area asking between $500-$800 for an hour incall.  Beautiful? Yes, but that's WAY above what I'm willing to pay.  Don't blame them for trying, but  that's above my pay grade.
