Why do we all do this??

Are we not good enough for society to work a 9 to 5 job???

So, let me start by saying I sure am not the person to fully answer these questions and only have my opinions.

First, I really do not feel that all TS girls do porn.  In my opinion, a very small percentage of them do porn and then an even smaller percentage continue to do porn.  For example, JohannaB has been doing porn consistently for many years and is very successful. On the other hand I know a few providers who did one or two movies/scenes and said that was enough and worth the experience.

Second, can TS peeps work 9-5?  I'd say heck yes. BUT, working for someone is not the end all be all, trust me.  I work for a big company and would love to be my own boss.  I know many many ts girls who work a regular job and provide for extra income.  I also know a few that never even worked as escorts or adult entertainers/porn stars and hold regular 9-5 jobs.  And the best part is their employers have no clue !!!!!!

Now, from my experience, the main reason many girls provide is because the cost to transition is so so so expensive. I realize everyone is different, but if you wanted to have a series of surgeries, visit the best doctors, etc..what a better way to pay off the Dr. bills -  $300 at a  time vs. working hourly or 9-5 for a company who has rules, regulations, limited numbers of days off, sick days, etc.  Also, it appears every TS girl in America is new in town and "24"...(ha ha) so I do not know too many 21-24 year olds who make $150-300 per hour right out of highschool. Being a provider gives the person more independence and flexibility to manage what they really want, which is to transition.  They also lead a sexually frustrated-less life, getting paid to cum  Ha!

I am sure India, Jamie, Rachell, Jazz, and the other girls can add candid, extremely valuable, and accurate feedback based on their own personal life experiences.  And I am sure you can too?????

I think it may also have something to do with employers who are not open minded or informed enough to hire an individual who presents themselves as a female and provides the documentation of a male. Not everyone has been able to make the legal name changes at a young age.  As I am sure you know much better then I, there are a large number of close minded individuals who are fearful of that which they do not understand and not willing to take the time to try to inform themselves.  It is not right and not legal to discriminate but it is still an unfortunate fact of life.

Additionally, it seems that there are a larger number of girls starting their transition in high school or when they graduate and do not continue their education, which will potentially put up another barrier to many employment opportunities.

The sad fact is that if someone is not willing to give an individual an opportunity to prove that they can be of value to an organization, the alternatives for feeding oneself and paying for the expense of transitioning are limited at best.

Finally, some girls may be attracted to the idea of fast cash and what might appear to be a foot lose and fancy free party lifestyle.  Then again, I could be way off base here, just my thoughts about reasons not already mentioned.

Well, if this is accurate, peeps who make $113K or higher a year are in the top 10%.  Then when Uncle Sammy gets his share, the state takes their share, you can almost subtract 40% off the top, then you have take home pay!

I think the better question to ask is how do these fake providers continue to get $150+ per session when they post fake pics that look NOTHING like them and happen to not be feminine TS girls but TV fakes hoping the dude is horny and will stay for the session or at least pay first then get scared and run ?  I wish those would go away!!!!

The $$ is too easy  escorting. Even when I worked 9-5 I still saw clients, even though I didn't advertise (but still got new ones through TER)I actually met most of my ATF clients that way. I would have never have turned down that extra $$ at the end of the day.
It's hard for some girls to get jobs. Different states have different laws regarding ID's and job discrimination. I'm very lucky in DC.
Some girls might not be "legal" in this country to begin with- that makes ID's etc...all the more difficult. So escorting is an easy profession.
A lot younger girls make poor decision when it comes to getting "back alley" injections and surgeries. We've all seen girls that are "too much". That too makes getting hired difficult in the long run.

1. Cost of transition
2. The great combination of loving your work and making money (if you have great clients)
3. Not having to deal with 9 to 5 job and working on your own terms

Negative reasons:
1. desperate need for money
2. drug habit

Heck that's true of anyone really!  If I were 19 years old and could live a free lifestyle and make $200+ per hour, that would have been hard for me to turn down!

discrimination is one reason why many TS do sex work.

I know of many TS that were working but after a new manger found out what they were ( whats da Tea/WHAT TIME IS) they found a way to get rid of them

My GF is a TS as are a few of her friends,some are working 9-5 with little problem. Others have faced many difficulties in jobs and relationships, it seems family support is a big factor. 2 of her friends are providers, one does it on the side while working 9-5. The other does it full time. Both enjoy providing but do it for different individual reasons.

i know a girl who works as an  extra in TV & film and she says there are a couple other girls who also work, but they have to stay incognito. Funny it is OK to be gay, lesbian etc but if you are a TS your phone stops ringing.
I know so many openly gay actors, casting directors, directors, producers etc but they discriminate against TS.
For the girls who escort, alot of them are very beautiful, fully passable. All day long i am sure their friends tell them so and so it would be natural for them to gravitate to a profession where their stunning looks are an asset, modeling, movies, etc. Unfortunately entertainment is a tough field and you go to where you can get work, a friend says you can make quick money doing this or that and the next thing you know you are naked. Over simplified but it happens to straight actors too.

I think in the end you take the job that presents itself.  and sometimes it is just better to work where people know your history than worrying that you will be fired if someone outs you. Then of course there are the girls who are just so sexual and beautiful that they want to show off who they are, the way some gg strippers & escorts are. I know some GG's who could not hold down a 9-5 because their identity is so tied into their sexuality. So why should TS be any different?

I suppose I'd say something similar to what others have. Most transgendered people in the United States have had a rough life, no doubt about it. Challenges include:

- Lack of family or other support network, even getting kicked out of the house or otherwise abused. I've known more than one TG person who was routinely physically abused as a child, likely for not conforming to gender roles.

- A lack of an accepting society, leading to discrimination, especially in employment and especially early in transition.

- The two points above often lead to acute funds shortages, mental problems, drug abuse or other pathologies

- Escort and porn are a way to close that gap, and also finance an expensive transition.

I've met many TG people, and almost all of them have had experience as an escort, committed other crimes, or had at some point had drug abuse problems. Most endured long periods of unemployment.

This isn't universally true, though. I know of some people who seem well adjusted (at least from their internet writings), but few that I've met haven't had a long road.

As far as their clients, that is to say, us. I can't speak to everyone, only myself.  I'm your garden variety upscale corporate professional type.  I am attracted to GG's, but prefer to be with a TS. I'm not ashamed of this and am more than willing to be out publicly with someone TG, though discretion being the better part of valor, I'm not about gratuitously broadcasting it and enduring my own bit of discrimination of abuse.

I'd like to find an TS to date and build an LTR with, but realistically that's very tough. Few TG people I know are similar to me, bring the baggage above, etc. Of course, I've got my own quirks and baggage too.  And even totally vanilla matches "made in heaven" too often fail in America today.  I dated someone TS for nine months last year. She was on federal probation for financial crimes and would not abide by the terms of them. I simply could not abide the thought of making a commitment to a partner who at any moment could be hauled off the prison. That's the story from my side of aisle.

But, being a guy, obviously I've got a healthy sex drive. Though money isn't the issue and I don't have a moral issue with prostitution, I'd rather not be with an escort as a client. But sometimes a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

Nicely put. I disagree with alot of transexuals providing for the sake of transitioning. I have noticed SEVERAL girls who have provided for a number of years. They still appear the same. No surguries what so ever. I believe providing is just a way to earn extra money for dilly dallies. Meaning clothes, drugs, trips, luxuries, and so forth. I highly disagree that MOST girls are in it to transition. More materialistic in my sense.

I also noticed the 24year old, NEW IN TOWN scenerio.  LETS hope and pray i DONT fall under that category! HA!

As far as the numbers come out, alot of men i have spoken to always ask that. are you a working girl? have you done porn? alot of this comes from being a transexual!! GUYS automatically assume one of the two.

I dont see how girls can see fast cash as the way out. fast cash is fast cash temporarily. What happens when fast cash runs out, or slows down? In times like these fast cash is not of abundance.

I think alot of TS girls get sucked in to this life style and very very hard for them to get out.

ALOT of gay and lesbien people are soo against transexuals. its like discriminating against your own kind. I dont care how gay a person is, or how lesbien a person is, you CANNOT and shouldnt be discriminate against a TS who is within the same community as you!!!

I was never kicked out, or physically abused. I also never turned to DRUGS of any sort.
