This was indeed a sad situation. But I have to hand it to LAPD, they handled this very professionally, always respectful of Paulina, never a reference to her prior name as best as I recall. Lt. Wes Buhrmester from LAPD worked his ass off on this case and I believe was looking for a first degree murder charge and conviction, but as you can see in the article, there were some facts that may have made it difficult to get a conviction so a plea deal is what they ended up with. IF the little scum bag survives his stay in the big house, he could be out in 10 years. RIP Paulina
