The worst that CAN happen and what is likely to ACTUALLY happen are two completely different things. While anything's possible, HIV dies when it comes into contact with oxygen (and has a hard time surviving in saliva), so unless the oral sex is airtight (i.e. like with a vagina or anus), it's extremely difficult to contract HIV that way. Statistically speaking, you're much more likely to catch a bacterial infection (i.e. gonorrhea, chlamydia, etc) by giving oral sex than you are a virus, particularly HIV, so if you've never had one of those, your chances of having contracted HIV are infinitesimal. And of course, herpes is a skin-to-skin disease, so you can catch that one without even having sex at all.
I'd also like to point out that the prevalence of HIV in the trans community is much lower than it is perceived to be.
theoretically is true. Therefore my heart beat always goes faster, while waiting for my newest STD status.
But, so far, it's been negative, though I do bbbj (upon request) as well.
I think my body has built up an immune system against all these disease over long period of time.
3 years ago, I wanted to have a Hepatitis B (free) vaccination in Canada. The nurse checked my blood, and she looked at the result and she told me i did not need one, since my body has already had antibody against Hepatitis B.
One more thing, i never have a flu shot and rarely get flu and cold in winter. I guess I have a good immune system.
But nevertheless, yes, safer sex is definitely encouraged. I like it more when the client says: please use condom Tia. I find it sexy and responsible.
Seriously this is a no brainer. Put the raincoat on and live another day to play.
