They can keep their opinions over on the GD board.  Piping in over there, in my opinion, has no benefit to anyone.  I read some of the posts and there are some pretty strong and narrow statements.

Being quiet in the face of "some pretty strong and narrow statements" has no benefit to anyone, imo.

And you wouldn't be "piping in over there", you would be adding to the discussion, educating and maybe freeing some minds.

Of course the choice is yours, as it is with everyone that posts here or anywhere on TER, but I wish you would reconsider, or have someone that posts here, weigh in on the GD with their thoughts.

Thanks for listening

Agree, no benefit to anyone if you don't make yourself heard.

Regardless of whether or not anyone chooses to post on the thread in question it was a classy move on your part to post here RodTidwell. Kudos.

sexually conflicted and self loathing individuals and they are only trying to puff up their chests with false machismo. I am sure they are streaming TS or even gay porn as they write their small minded BS ... if not googling for the nearest adult video store or rest stop glory hole.

To avoid the drama, I don't even go to certain boards and thank God for the "Ignore User" option on this site as well (keeps my sanity with this board and PMs as well haha).

Totally agree Rachel.  We often forget that this board is not only national. but global.  Some of the peeps responding and their mindsets are still about 40 years behind, if not more.  Will they ever catch up? Answer:  Probably not and its not worth your breath or mine to try and change it.

OK so there's a thread on the GD board about the transgender community. No one has thought to even ask you your thoughts on topics about your community. I don't want to start a war, but I am curious to hear your thoughts on matters from your points of view. Instead of having people who aren't part of your community speaking. Hi again and thankyou  .

Thought that was very nice of you to give a "head's-up", on that, so to speak, love... most kind indeed...  : )

sent over a few responses last night and a few links to similar topics I had extensively posted answers and explanatory perspectives here in this forum, on similar topics...

The incredible advances made by the LGBT community in the last 40 years, but more so in the last 10, have been stunning.

"Change" does not happen by saving ones "breath" but expelling it often and demanding tolerance if not outright acceptance.

Yes, sometimes it is a slow and frustating process but ultimately, the people who speak out, rationally yet passionately, advance their cause.

The reason there is even a "transexual" board on TER at all shows me how things have changed.

You and Rachel have benefited from people who came before you and demanded to be heard and not treated like freaks.

There isn't a group or movement in the history of this planet that ever went anywhere with out somebody willing to ruffle a few feathers and make a few people feel uncomfortable and take some heat in the process.

Yes, you'll encounter a few idiots along the way but....so what? You'll also educate basically good people who have a narrow mind and maybe open their thought process just enough to not pass the hate or misinformation onto their children.

If you need any more evidence, my opinions about LGBT have changed over my lifetime b/c family and friends came out and had the guts to face the music and be themselves under VERY difficult circumtances to do so.

Their bravery made me look at their issues and cause in a much different light. Their outcry made it all the more "human" and "real" to me. It has forged a different attitude in me. A much more tolerant one.

Just a thought.

Peace

There was only a couple of jackasses and even they weren't that bad.  I expected it to be much worse.... but perhaps the worst ones were deleted.  Either way, there was, surprisingly, a lot of opened minded posts on the thread.  Too  bad it was closed.

The same discussion 10 or even 5 years back on that or the porn stars board was usually met with quips like:

"I always look at my clients reviews and if I see they like to see TS' I won't see them"

"When looking at a providers reviews, I always check to see if any of the reviewers also saw trannys"

etc.

I'm surprised the boards were this acceptable.

So, last  night, I read the entire thread on the GD board.  What ya think,  I would say maybe 10 to 15 peeps going back and forth?  After I read it all, I was not angry, not surprised, etc......I honestly did not have much to say because I realize that the TS thing is still a long way from being accepted in most parts of the country.  Most large cities have opened up and it is not that big of a deal.  San Francisco being the obvious leader, other cities following.

Today, I took a quick peep and noticed that two very well spoken and smart TS providers replied to many of the comments in that post.  I then thought to myself, "I sure am glad I did not post or lash out, I think having individuals who live a life as a TS every day and all day was the appropriate response from the TS board."

You yourself and a few others seem to be very open, reasonable, and kind individuals.  There is no reason for me or anyone else to comment or try to overcome someone who says that anyone seeing a TS is gay, I might as well look at myself in the mirror if I am going to meet a TS with fake boobs and a penis,  Let me get my bowl of popcorn, xxx just posted on the TS board, etc.....

Me, myself, and I, having a ton of experience dating TS girls, I can tell you that no way in hell am I gay.  Is there anything wrong with that?  NOPE, but I am not attracted to men.  As the TS Girls stated on the GD board, most clients they see are married.  Why?  In my opinion, they are extremely bored and an encounter with a hot, feminine TS girl is very rewarding and erotic.

I myself have never been with a male, have been with a ton of TS girls, have dated many biological females, had relationships for 5 plus years,  and in between girlfriends, have probably been with over 100 GG escorts over the years.  Re-thinking, probably a lot more.  At one time, I had a lot of money to blow and a tremendous sex drive.  :)

Taking a peek at the GD board tonight, it appears a new thread was started to keep the overall discussion going regarding men who see post-op girls.  I can only relay one experience.  About ten years ago I went to Amsterdam with a buddy.  We would hit the bars and then head out to the district.  We would usually lose each other after a few drinks and meet back at the hotel late night.  He would say...."Oh, I met the most beautiful girl and spent 3 hours with her".  I would say "Fuck that, I came here for quantity and quality and I was with 5 girls for the same price you paid".  Well, during that trip, I think, can't be sure, but think I had sex with a post op girl.  Why?  When we were having sex, it just did not feel right.  That was only one experience so really can't comment much more on why men see post op girls.  My opinion is that I would think, just like pre-op TS girls, that post op girls rock in the sack...their drive is extremely high which is why some men want to experience it.  Plus, it is also a bit taboo/erotic which satisfies a lot of bored married men who get sex on the 1st and 15th of the month if those days fall on a Friday (date) night. :)

Again, ask any TS provider that the majority of the clients they see are married heterosexual men.

One's sexual preference is not conditioned, the person is born that way.  So many closed minded folks disagree, but I feel this is a fact.

For once in a long time, I agree with the post from MellowSoul.  Things have gotten a lot better but we are not there yet.

I hope you find this post well.
