How come there aren't many TS providers participating on the board.  In the  discussion boards for other cities you always have several providers posting information about their tours, specials, etc.  On the TS board there is hardly any participation which leaves one searching eros, backpages, etc to get information.  Is TER just the wrong board for TS participation?

There used to be quite a few.  Nowadays this is more of a "gotcha" site.  If you're a "bad transsexual", you WILL get nailed here.  Look out.

If you don't like me, I am happy to have someone replace me.  I was nominated and at that time, not really interested in being mod.  I was a common poster and someone felt that I would do a good job.  If you feel I run providers off, please comment and give me your feedback. Always willing to change or open for suggestions.  I can tell you that we have a small  handful of providers that participate and they are good ones, not the bad, churn and burn providers.  I've been hanging around this board for about three to four years and I have never seen a huge influx of providers posting.  

I hit another common board (NY Based) and I'd say the same thing. I see the exact same providers post over and over w/ minimal participation from newbies.  

Anytime a provider comes to our board, we welcome them with open arms and gratitude.  

Again, feel free to post your candid opinion and either cat or myself will approve.  I am very very open to any suggestion that will make a ts provider feel more comfortable posting here.

One comment you made above is very valid and I'm glad you made the comment.  We have migrated to more of a "gotch" site.  Thats good and bad and its good to stop and take a deep breath and think about that comment.  I for one, will point out a bad, churn and burn provider and will be the first to claim "gotcha".  After reading your comment, I also feel taking a step back and giving a provider the benefit of the doubt when there is room for argument or varied opinions is something we need to strive for here.  

So, I will make an effort to not claim "gotcha" unless I am 110 pecent sure its a gotcha.

I been here for some years now and yes there have been a few TS posting here and there, but not a big deal...
We do have different likes from you guys, while you guys look for who is the best looking TS or the one with the biggest dick.
We look for make up and fashion, surgeries and facials to look better for you.

First, I didn't get the impression that "Salil" was trying to disrespect you Dog.  I think he just meant that quite a long time ago a former mod was also great...!  Nobody can replace the Dog!    Or the Cat!  (Meow) We all appreciate your efforts to make and keep this a great board.  XOXOX

Regarding this being the wrong board.  No, I don't believe the fact that TER is the primary TS review site keeps girls from posting.  It may keep the rip off girls from posting, but they don't participate anyway.  I've always enjoyed the interaction with the guys and girls here.  I can't say that about some TS social network sites where  unmoderated flame wars are the norm.  "That" is what drives girls away.

I think also as India mentioned, many girls in this profession have education, language and other barriers, or simply don't understand the marketing advantage participating in forums provides.

Also the overall ratio of high quality TS girls is less than with genetic girls.  While pretty, sexy, NICE, genetic girls are dime a dozen,  there are really only a few dozen truly top quality TS providers in the country.  A number of them do post here.

BTW - Have you ever noticed it is rare for a gentleman to have a negative experience with a well known and well reviewed girl who participates in online forums?  It's nearly always with the "street" types where you guys feel ripped off.

I think too that with the economy a lot of people are less involved on the Internet.  Since I'm not (presently...) active in adult entertainment, surviving the recession with my business intact  takes most of my time, so like many people on both sides of the hobby I tend to post much less than I did previously.

Finally, from what I've heard a lot of girls, even top quality girls are not making the money they did a couple of years ago.  I think quite a few have left the business.  And none of us is getting any younger.  LOL    I know I'm glad my partner and transitioned into other things when we did.  We enjoyed what was probably the best times this hobby ever had.

I think however when the economy turns around a new crop of quality girls will enter the business and you gents can look forward to many more fun times in the future!

I think that the mods here are doing a great job.
I've checked out some other boards, and no offense to them, but this one is the better.
Yes, it is a review board, and sometimes I get frustrated at WTF is happening to some of the reviews here, but that is a TER thing, not a moderator issue.
India, we have not met, yet. I would love to turn you on to some great shopping, or at least do my part to make it happen, but don't really have the expertise to start advising you ladies about makeup, shoes, or anything really. With some few exceptions, you all seem to have very good taste to me.
Finally, thanks to the TS providers out there who, weather they participate on boards like this or not, go through all that they do and are so great to meet in person.

First of all.......Dog is the best moderator we could ever have.  He and Cat are dedicated, and spend a great deal of time to make this site worthwhile for both hobbyists and for providers.

Any criticism of either is misplaced and not deserved.  It must take  enormous amounts of time to provide the assistance that they provide for all of us.

Why is there limited participation from TGirls ???  I never thought much about it except that I always hoped that the contributions would build over time.  The comment about Latin providers may be part of it, in that lack of confidence or familiarity in responding to discussions may contribute to few comments from a segment of Tgirls.  It's important to understand that ease with English as a language is not important...it's what is said and the thought behind it that is of value to me and other hobbyists. I applaud all contributions to this discussion board.  The only time I get short in my comments is when the contributor has not done their homework and used ER as it is supposed to be used.

ER remains the best resource for hobbyists, and is also an important contact point for providers at all levels of experience in that experienced contributors are more than willing to share their experiences and be helpful to other beginning ladies and provide guidance to them.

I am often surprised about the number of girls who are not aware that TER even exists. From my observations, the girls that do find this forum and participate are treated with respect. I for one welcome and enjoy their participation as it is an opportunity to get a sense of their "personality" in a back and fourth "conversation." India and Melissa are perfect examples, just a couple of ladies whose beauty is much more then skin deep. And I would guess that if and when one of us meet these ladies, they may already have a "sense" of whom will be knocking at their door. It would be interesting to know if in general, the ladies find a difference between the men they have interacted with here as opposed to those that have not.

I also think that this would be a great resource for new girls as well and it is a shame more do not come here or take advantage of this forum.

As far as mods go, The Dog and Cat do an outstanding job imo. Informative, a keen sense of humor, and promote a friendly and respectful environment for everyone to enjoy. If it's drama and disrespect you seek, it's not hard to find a  forum that will serve it up on a sliver platter.

I raise my glass in a toast to the Mods for keeping it real and the ladies who drop by to say hello!

I'm excited by Babbage's question, motivated by Sailil's comments, and inspired by Dog, India, and JustaTransGirl (and others).  What a massively huge.....topic!  I would love to do a study of our TS board with info from both the girls and the guys.  It would be absolutely fascinating (and, of course, quite a turn-on).

Since I came on board in relatively recent times, it has also coincided with some significant social, political, and economic impacts nationwide.   I started making a list, but it was getting really long.  In a nutshell, it’s been hell for several years or longer.

Although, the war machine has been quite productive, unfortunately:

“According to the Center for Defense Information, the estimated cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will reach $864 billion by the end of fiscal year 2009.”

These are the days in which fluctuating economies toss and turn like a grumpy old fart.  There are a lot of frustrated people and even more who have a lot less than what they used to have.  A lot of dreams have washed away.  A lot of promises in the dark saw the not-so-pretty light of day.

I wonder if the policing we mods do of our hobby was, in fact, an inevitable emphasis.

Roses are much more scarce, and hardly anyone is nonchalant about TOFTT .  The squeeze is on, and, unfortunately, that also brings out the fakes and the criminally-minded among providers and clients alike.

We mods are under even more scrutiny and pressure than ever to provide timely information—and accurate info.  Gone are the days when a glib comment to “go see her” could be made.  Now, it’s caution, caution, caution, and please report back about your PHONE conversation.  People look to us for guidance in an economy gone to hell.

Furthermore, small markets are now beginning to see ads on their local CL and Backpage as providers, in desperation, search for lucrative areas.  The dudes in these places don’t have much experience with research because they’ve not had any opportunities to practice.  So, they come to us for reliable analysis.

Sadly, we are seeing more fake provider ads than I can remember in the past year.  The guys just aren’t used to doing very much research, and that works against them.  A girl puts up fake pictures, the guy arrives to find someone different, feels screwed, and pays up and then bitches about it later.  Meanwhile, the fake provider got your donation, and now you don’t have the roses to give to an honest-to-goodness top provider—who may choose to get out of the hobby.

So, yeah, the TS Board has become very focused on the “Gotcha”—my research expertise and the Dog’s vast experience place us with an ideal skill-set to serve.

REMINDER: we’re NOT paid.

As for the lack of participation of TS providers, that is their decision.  Have you all noticed that only the top-notch, world-class girls are participating regularly?  Uh, care to figure it out?  Because they are the best and most reliable—DUH.  When a girl posts here, it’s with the big leagues.  This is it.  It’s very high scrutiny, high pressure, with INCREDIBLE potential rewards.  With LE activity being unpredictable, I’d rather see a girl from the TS Board any day—and I’ll give more to do it.  And, I will wait for it.

Posting here also helps to keep a girl going, now doesn’t it?  So, when one of these gals is really tired with a sore butt, and they have one more visit for the evening, they will reach down into the heart of their TER reviews and say: Hell, yeah, bring it on!  How will they face the board if they don’t give their best?  That’s part of what makes them top-of-the-world girls.

Another good point by India: Technology has gone through some amazing changes in the past few years, making it a bit more difficult for girls to adapt.  Quite challenging to learn.  Reality Check: How many of you clients have enough skill?

The language barrier is not to be ignored:

And, I think India had an excellent point to make: our babes have other interests besides suck-and-fuck.  Admittedly, not many—LOL (kidding!).  Seriously, I think India has a great point, and I’ll be thinking about a variety of ideas to open up our discussion to various topics (of course, cat food is a priority).

In sum, the Board will alter its emphasis…..in time and in need, when it’s appropriate.  There probably won’t be a conscious decision; it’ll just change.  So, even though we have some crappy economic times, it’s still a great time to be alive and active in our hobby.  Now, more than ever, it is the little things that make a difference.

First of all, thanks for the kind words.  Second, as I stated many times, I was nominated to be a Mod.  I have stayed because I enjoy it and feel people appreciate mine and CATS's efforts.  We also always try to have fun.  I think most can catch my humor. Some of it sticks and some of it may be a little on the sarcastic or silly side.

As for this board.  Its a provider review board for the most part. So, the majority of any discussion will be a 411, how did it go?  Is she cool and worth the roses, etc?  

Both CAT and I always try to promote the good ones but I for one work very very hard for my income and the last thing I am going to do is walk into a providers apt or hotel and flush it down the drain and feel satisfied.  If a person is not being honest and is not a good provider, then its our duty to make sure others know.  Then its up to them to think with the correct head.  

Also, I do not have any statistics (how could I) but I can tell you that if there are 10 regular TS providers posting her on a regular basis, there are 10x that reading the board.  I get many PM's from providers that are not interested in being a regular here.  

I was a memeber of TER for over a year probably before I even clicked on the TS Discussion Board link.  For many, this is of no interest to them.  

Regardless, CAT is a great Mod, a great balance to the board when I get all fired up, so hope everyone enjoys reading here and participating.

Wow, I didn't expect such passionate responses.

First I agree that the mods on this board do a great job.  Although I don't see that they have many reviews posted Perhaps they do so under a different alias which if they do I think is a great idea.

As for India's comments, I suspect that language might be a big part of the lack of participation. I noticed that a large number of TS providers are Latin or Asian (hmmm, I smell another post).

As for some of the other reasons posted, I suspect they are all contributing factors but I suspect only slightly since each of the city boards seem to have many more providers posting than the TS board which serves the whole country (world?) and I would think many of the issues discussed are being faced by all types of providers so one would expect similar participation.

Anyways, thanks for the lively feedback.  It was interesting reading.

Just a quick comment on your last post Babbage.

Were you talking GG (genetic girl) providers or TS providers posting on local city boards?

Mod Cat recently posted an Eros count of t-girls nationwide which was around 950 advertisers.  That's nationally!  Even small cities have that many GG providers.

In past surveys I did on CL a few years ago TS's were about 1% to 3% of the total escort ads. (And 75% of those were Robs... sigh).

I used to participate regularly in the San Diego and Tijuana forums here on TER, and occasionally in the Porn forum - though apparently we aren't really wanted there anymore, I was also active in the Legal and Erotic Highway forums.  I just got busy with other things so I only visit this forum at the moment.

I'm also a long time member of a couple of other "straight" social network sites/clubs where I'm the only t-girl and have always been treated with respect and friendliness.

The bottom line is there is nearly 100 times as many GG's as TS's, and probably the reality is most t-girls have more exciting lives and sleep better than me, and don't sit up at 2 am posting BS...
